[REQUEST] Release Model Files

Guys at IGA, I realise your busy and stuff but if someone could spare a few minutes from your shedule could you possibly upload the mesh for all armor types for skinners in the form of a max file?

I tried playing around with the editor and tried to export the reference pose mesh but I didn't get very far. I DID stumble across some of the single player models though and got a good dose of a spoiler. Very cool shazbot what your doing with the SP.

Don't even bother adding the diffuse maps etc... most skinners should be competent enough to do that themselves. It would be totally awsome if you could do this because it's a pain to repackage and restart the game whenver you want to preview changes. Rerendering it in Max takes no time at all, and would totally help out anyone considering doing skinning.

yes

i believe they have already stated this is planned. you dont see many games where they give you the EDITOR during beta... so rest assure that they care about this stuff.

I agree here. I would LOVE to see some new models (not skins) but models if possible.

Also, TseTse can you provide a source for good tutorials or books (maybe vids) on developing maps in Unreal Ed. I know you have posted this before, but Id like to dabble with map making.

Been playing Tribes for a Long time, but I honestly havent put any time into mapping etc. Think I need to put some programming experience to work. =)

I've done several Unreal Ed tutorials and honestly can't figure out mapping in T:V.

Here it is anyway:

http://wiki.beyondunreal.com/wiki/Mapping_Lessons

http://ut2004maps.com/ut2004_tutorials.html

More than enough stuff for you to look at. Tribes is extremely different, it shares simmilar principles but I don't know how they do things like skybox, terrain or the changes in actors. It's really weird and different and I expect no one will be able to make 2 cents of the editor untill full release.

best source for video tutorials on unreal engine (and many other engines) is www.3dbuzz.com

they also have a full DVD of pimp vids on the ut2k4 special edition (it was worth the money just for that).

http://www.masteringunreal.com/ <--- 3dbuzz unreal video tutorials

http://udn.epicgames.com/Two/WebHome/ <-- epic's unreal dev network info stuff

http://udn.epicgames.com/Two/TerrainTopics <--- terrain specifc stuff

http://wiki.beyondunreal.com/wiki/ <-- mostly scripting oriented

For some tips: http://www.zenegg.com/forums//index.php?showtopic=4

Also, Jason Busby has a two volume book on unreal engine modding which was supposed to be out already. One is just on scripting... the other on all the other stuff.

if you release the models.. dont forget to release them in maya format (.ma .mb).
or maybe someone is kind enought to convert them to .obj....
