Well... since "Pro" = being paid to play, I wanna know who's gonna be signing yer paychecks!
And yes... touchy is putting it lightly. ;)

Pro player looking for a serious TribeBitRaiser 09-28-2004, 05:19 PM Well... since "Pro" = being paid to play, I wanna know who's gonna be signing yer paychecks! And yes... touchy is putting it lightly. ;) Hurricane Harold 09-28-2004, 05:21 PM a person engaged in one of the learned professions www.cogsci.princeton.edu/cgi-bin/webwn an athlete who plays for pay www.cogsci.princeton.edu/cgi-bin/webwn A person who has, within the year previous to the convention, made 50% or more of his or her income from unicycling performances, or from performing which involved unicycling as more than a minor prop. www.unicycling.org/iuf/rulebook/iufrules/1general.html Is what they are saying. Not to make fun of the thread starter's choice of words or anything, just pointing out some other's points of view which motivate their replies here. Timmain 09-28-2004, 05:22 PM I am a pro Tribes:Vengeance player and Tribes 1/2 veteran. Okay. I think I need some clarification about what you define as "pro." Does this mean you'll be paid solely from playing T:V? Or that you "rawk so hawd" that you feel you deserve top spots on upcoming tribes? Really now... tell me what a "Pro" is, Grudge ol' boy. Mindflayr 09-28-2004, 05:23 PM lol... I wasn't meaning that to be an attack. Seriously though... I would hate to be under the leadership of someone that's going to look down on me because I accidently put my finger on the wrong key. Not to be a dick here but this is a competative game. Putting your finger on the wrong key at the wrong time could be the difference between winning and losing a match. Just to split hairs. p.s. - yes i know it was a spelling reference but you made it too easy. :P Tycho 09-28-2004, 05:23 PM lol... I wasn't meaning that to be an attack. Seriously though... I would hate to be under the leadership of someone that's going to look down on me because I accidently put my finger on the wrong key. But, what if you accidently press the "lose game" key instead of the "win game" key in a #1 match? I think being able to press the right key is very important to the team. TheGrudge 09-28-2004, 05:24 PM Hmm... good point. Thanks for pointing that out without being an @$$. I appreciate it. I'll edit my origional post. I don't see why it takes so much effort for others here to have some respect. It's not like I'm someone spamming the board with useless nonsense like the people who go out of their way to make a post on the first page of a topic that consists only of "First post! Yeah, I kick @$$!". MikSchultzy 09-28-2004, 05:25 PM Pro player.... and a member? TF_Baxter 09-28-2004, 05:25 PM Welcome to Tribalwar.com I hope you enjoy your stay. Just to split hairs. oh you stupid, witty-post stealing effhead >.< Timmain 09-28-2004, 05:27 PM No seriously, what is your definition of "pro," and how are you qualified for that spot? TheGrudge 09-28-2004, 05:30 PM What does the ammount of posts I have in a forum have anything to do with my skill in the game? The reason I'm only a "member" here is because I rarely post due to the way people are treated by regular "vets" here. I decided to take a chance at posting because I'm looking for a good tribe. My post was respectfull and not pointless, so I don't see any reason for me to be attacked. I guess the regulars here don't need a reason to treat "members" like $hit other than the fact that they are regulars. To answer this before the flames or such idiocy - status on TW is a result of time registered, not post count. Fiberoptic 09-28-2004, 05:33 PM Pro player.... and a member? I dare say I've played tribes longer than you mike, but I'm still just a member, so that' doesnt matter a whole lot. Some folks change their name, and some folks just arent a tw whore. TheGrudge 09-28-2004, 05:34 PM To answer this before the flames or such idiocy - status on TW is a result of time registered, not post count. Thanks for pointing that out. I didn't know that. To stop the "pro" related responces here, I appologize for using that word. I'm sure the people who've laughed at me for using the term, or looked down on me for any reason because of it... aren't THAT ignorant enough to not realize what I meant by it. I was just saying that I'm a good player... better than average... skilled. Is it realy something I need to explain in such detail? TheGrudge 09-28-2004, 05:36 PM I dare say I've played tribes longer than you mike, but I'm still just a member, so that' doesnt matter a whole lot. Some folks change their name, and some folks just arent a tw whore. Thank you. It feels good to know I'm not the only one here that feels this way. I'm not much for talking in message boards... doesn't mean I'm not a skilled player. I've played Tribes sence the beta was released for Starsiege Tribes. SaintDude 09-28-2004, 05:43 PM How can you assume my playing skills based on things I've said in a forum? Damn this place is touchy. Welcome to TribalWar dot com. I honestly think a lot of new comers to T:V are saying they're vets to make people think better of them. | ||
