Maps and a new gametype would go a LOOOONG way imo. I think T:V has an awesome balance of weapons and tools with a good deal of depth. I just think we need some more exciting maps and something other than CTF.
(PS, I liked/like T2 (Base, Base++, V2 and Classic) all lots o fun)
I don't know what needs to be added or fixed or modded...(well, I have some thoughts, but who really cares what I think). Moreover, fixing games ain't my thing. Instead, playing games is my thing. I will say, I've played katabatic for hours on end without ever getting bored with the gametype, so I seriously doubt adding a few more maps is the magical finishing touch some of us believe it will be.
That said, I am not hating on T:V....just asking a question or two, trying to figure out what's what.

If the future is anything like the past, then I have little doubt that anything they see fit to come up with will be fun to play.

I liked it.
Fine (although, there was a reason everyone quit after the 1st 3 months), here's the reasons :
1) Buggy POS
2) Speed limits to make the game more newb friendly
3) Defenses that were purely AI based (hello 234325 turrets and elf)
4) Vehicles that were overpowered or worthless
5) Massive maps that due to speed limits limited you to one strat (havoc escorted by shrikes)
6) Vehicles required for any decent amount of speed while capping
7) Random disc shots
8) Missile launcher limiting grenade type to flares only, unless you wanted to eat a missile all the time
9) Soupy, floaty physics
Just a few of the reasons it sucked so much. Granted I played base, base++, and classic, but mainly because I had friends that I enjoyed playing with, and didn't feel like playing T1 anymore. It was also the only game with jetpacks that wasn't T1.
Almost everyone that played T2 thought it sucked, and the funniest thing was when a bunch of us came back this summer and made fun of everyone taking a dead shazbotty game so seriously.
z0dd and ZOD modded T2 because it completely sucked and didn't even come close to being fun. If they find T:V fun, they're not going to put in the time to mod it. So, you may first want to ask them if they're enjoying T:V or if they have any game breaking dislikes with T:V.
This is all just a tiny tiny list of things I dislike and would want changed, perhaps the demo has some of these changes and others I would like to see, ved. I have no plans on touching jack and shazbot, it is a lot of work with no reward.
Inventory system
I would want to completely rewrite it so it acted like a faster Tribes 2 system.
Keybinds
Anything requiring me to have to hold one key down and press another one annoys me to no end.
Jet Forces
There is not enough applied to your forward motion and to much applied to your upward.
Skiing
Imo needs some kind of steering ability, the lack of control in open beta just annoys the crap outta me.
Effects
Visual effects, I hate them all.
Object damage
The way things take damage, there is no "disabled", only destroyed. Imo there should be a disabled range, where it doesn't work, but is still there and repairable. (I am talking deployables).
Manned turrets
Manned turrets should imo shield the player that is mounted to them. If turret is destroyed, player is killed, else he can hop out before hand.
Vehicles
I would change all of them in some way. lots of work needed here, nuff said.
Flag Hud
Need flag HUD showing flag status, who has it, is it home, return timer.
Flag physics
Flag doesn't travel far enough when dropped or thrown, needs a velocity boost.
CTF
I am so bored of CTF, need some other viable gametypes.. like DnD, Jailbreak, FnR.. try enough of them something should stick.

You and your friends came from T1 and found T2 a bad game. Understandable. Many of us (really lots of us) never played T1 and came to T2 precisely because of what it attempted to be.

I understand why you dont. I have mentioned elsewhere that Dynamix did this to both of us. To you, because they didnt remain consistent with the franchise. (Although I had no way of knowing that at the time). And to me for Dynamix pissing all of you off which created turmoil in a game that I honestly enjoyed. (This resulted in the game I enjoyed being modded out of existance - regardless what you may have thought of it).
I do think it needed a faster ski. (That's about all it needed for me).
Here is the thing. (I mentioned this elsewhere also). I have left Tribes in general because T:V just wasnt a continuation of T2 in much the same way as T2 wasnt a continuation of T1. (And issues with some in the community) I'm not mad, just realistic. T:V returns to the original promise, which doesnt include me. T:V has the chance to close the rift that Dynamix created with the introduction of T2. If I stay and get pissy, it will just continue that rift, which shouldnt have been there in the first place. So I'm looking elsewhere.
This - T:V - is for you. Dont blow it again. (Not that you did the first time) Play the game and unify the community dont split it all over again. Some will try that. Sorry zandZ and others, but you are selfish and arrogant if you do. Fixing bugs is one thing, but you will be splitting the community again. I understand that it will satisfy you. It wont satisfy those that come to T:V as a new experience just as I did to T2. You wont be thinking of them. You will be thinking of yourself. That is why I used the word selfish should you hack T:V. I hope you dont. I would love to eat these words.
Play the game and give all those many many thousands (hopefully hundreds of thousands) of new players the courtesy of enjoying their experience rather than telling them that the experience they enjoy actually sucks. (Not that you have done that. Although you just did with regards to T2. :) Just a recommendation)
Make this a positive and hopefully profitable experience and there may be a next title. Moan, complain and refuse to accept this title that people worked for years on and you will send the message to the industry that this community cant be satisfied and that it is an unprofitable franchise. There wont be a next title possibly under those circumstances. IMO, that's self defeating and just dumb.
I know that zandZ are considered legends by some and I'm bound to get flamed by toadies. Ah well.

2) im just curious which effects you think suck? like the graphics effects?
3) i would love to see a siege and DnD gametype, capture and hold was good fun too. does anyone remember the i think it was T1 OGL ladder that had multiple gametypes? or i am just remembering shazbot that didnt exsist .. twas so long ago hehe. i've always thought a composte type ladder would be good fun. the competition IMO would be so much richer. for instance, lets use IE as an example. IE was uber in CTF, would IE be as uber in CnH? what about siege or DnD? they most likely would still kick ass in all gametypes but i think it would be fun to find out.

Some adjustments were made, we'll have to see. I don't think it's going to be like T1/2 though. Ever.

It was a bug, you should have control over it now.

I don't really miss that system. You know that if it's there, it works. No unpleasent surprises. :shrug:

That would make them invulnerable while still having the ability to kill others themselves. I'd say leave it as it is.

1) I would have it function exactly how it does in T2 except 5x faster. Press button, bring up screen, step on pad, walk off pad, loadout complete. Would do away with deployables stations. Wouldn't add an ammo station, I think portable inv's are good enough, but perhaps allow them to be picked up and moved in the field.
2) Explosions, weapon trails etc. I don't like the overall look of the game (to cartoony looney for me), but changing just the effects would go a long way.

1) I only ever had one key bound to suicide :roller:
2) For about 2 seconds, two mortars and the turret is toast. As it stands now, the turreter has no chance in hell of being effective in a match situation if the otehr team isn't completely retarded.
3) They are too spammy mainly. There is more but going into it in detail at this point is a waste of my horrid typing skillz :closet:

It was the standard (great) invo system of t2, but you could walk thru it. u were all suited up and ready in a flash. Basically, it is the exact same thing as normal t2 but much much faster and more pro-game flowing

The others I agree with. The jet forces could be tweaked, but I think that there was a bug with jetting that was found. Same thing with flag physics, also a bug that should be fixed on release.
Skiing does allow for control, just remember to stop holding forward. It would be nice to see more carving ability, since we do have ski boots now :D
Vehicles are horridly overpowered right now.
Players in manned turrets need to take damage, otherwise many of them are hard to kill since they're on pedestals that are very problematic to drop mortars on. And I think it takes 2 mortars to kill a turret.
From an engineer point, no disabled is quite nice, since there is no longer a method of easily keeping track of which are damaged. If you put in disabled, put in a method of tracking those which are disabled.

interesting, picked up and moved eh? you dont like the deployable stations at all? personally i dont have any competative experience with the new deployment system so ill withhold my own personal final vedict until i see how it works in pratice. i will say i like how every armor can deploy now. i think that is a positive change.

i disagree. this new feature really allows players the ability to develope their skills further. dont remove things that limit people's ability.
