what kind of frames are you getting with that rig? i have a similar system (1.8ghz) but am running 1GB ram with a GF3

I average ~60-70fps in open areas, ~40-50 in the heat. I could raise the res and/or detail, but I'm a real fps hog.

I get anywhere from 35-85fps during a match

Barton 2600+, 512 MB PC2700, Radeon 9600 XT 128 MB and Asus A7N8X.

Game runs good at 1024*768 at High, Fog at Ultra High, no AA or AF. Steady 60-70 frames per second, may dip to 30-40 depending on situations.

Man you should be getting better FPS then that. You settings should be on high and be getting 40+

I haven't tested. I didn't know there was a way to test frames in-game. Explain if there is. Otherwise, I think I'm a fairly good judge of fps... and I can say that the game runs fluid to me. Feels like at least 50 fps. No stutering unless there's lag in the server. No choppiness at all in single player.

I built this system for Doom 3 and Half-Life 2. This game runs perfect on it. I also turn off all programs running in the background.

average about 55 or 60 fps i think..haven't checked lately

I basically the exact same system as grudge (1.86ghz tbird, 9800pro, 1 gig memory) and I'm unfortunatly having to run it at 1024 with some things high, some things low (custom setting).. how the fook are you getting 1280x1024 ultra on that setup? what drivers are you using for the vid card.. what sound card?

thats pretty much my settings except I have a 2.4.

I have to play in 800x600 though.

EDIT: 2.1 not 2.4

Do you have the same processor/ram speeds that I do? I use the catalyst drivers with my 9800 Pro. As stated in my specs, I have an M-Audio Delta 66 soundcard. It's a professional musician's soundcard used more for recording and editing than gaming... but it works great with games also. I just don't get the 5.1 surround :(.

I can't run any other game at the settings that I run Tribes Vengeance in. Honestly... I'm not sure how it works so well on my system, but it does. The only thing I don't have turned on is the pixer 2.0 thing. That seemed to make my fps go down.
