This seems to be the trend in Pubs. In reality the blame lies with the players, unwillingness to change teams etc.

A picture is worth a thousand words.

The players on the stacked team made NO effort to balance things out. In fact they laughed about it and continued whoring lol. Worst Pub game I've ever been in.

Until the time comes when teams will autobalance by player count AND score, this will be the norm' in most pubs. Of course this happens in every MP game like this, but damn lol.

The fact that the beta randomizes between every map exacerbates the problem. Teams only end up being relatively even about 1/3 of the time (in my estimation), so when people get on a wh00p@ss team they feel it is their 'right' to play out the map that way. The first thing I'm going to do when I get T:V is start working on a team balancing mod for pubs. Well, other than play it for 3 weeks straight that is.

Well... we have hardcore vets (ex. [KGB]) and we have complete utter newbs. Today I saw someone guarding the entrance to our base, he was completely useless and pretty much every heavy O got it... but it seemed like he was having fun.

I find alot I'm stuck on a team that doesn't know wtf they are doing, expect to see more of that in release. And it will be very evident from watching someone who's the vet and who's the newb.

if your team was totally sucking, one/two players changing over isn't going to make much of a difference against guys who know what is going on.

and for the record: stacking is deliberately changing teams to win. just because your team lost doesn't mean it's the other's fault. learn to play better, if you've finding difficulty against a team of random pubbers with even teams, i think stacking is the least of your worries.

you know what i cant stand? i cant effing take it when i come on w/ 3 freinds, all wearing the same tag, we all get on the same team, and if there is anytype of balance/stack, etc..... they wnat my team team to split

**newsflash** if you do not have a tag, or on with other teammates ...:> your the fodder you effin move & stop your cryin

Looks to me like they had a couple of good cappers. Also looks like the guy with the most kills was on your team and left. It doesnt take 10 killer players to skew the scores in a small game.

proof that its not pubs is that my clan just had a match over at TWL and won 41-0. either you know how to play the game, or you dont. its alot of chance

(either that or gangsta rocks the casba)

what do you mean by 'getting worse and worse' ?

is it new that this happens once in a while in every damn game ?

I think lots of new people aren't interested in CTF.

CTF is OFN.

New players don't play the flag. They fly around, ski around, duel, play in turrets, etc.

Pubs always were and always will be that way. I think they'll get better and better as servers start getting their "regulars" and new players start figuring out how to play the game. It won't be perfect, but it'll be better.

And balancing by points won't really solve the problem, might help I suppose. It really comes down to roles then skill. Some teams lack a good balance of roles to be effective. Or they lack player skill to fill those roles.

Bah, complicated.

It'll get better.

I'd want your team to split up too. If you insist on playing together to the detriment of the whole server(unless you all suck), why not just go play on your own?

Team stacking on a pub is for kiddies who don't know better.

Anyone with any sense/pride/skill would switch have switched to the shazbot team. You don't get better by absolutely dominating, you get better by having a challenge presented to you.

(they were presented with a challenge and the only lesson they learned was to complain on tw)

This is why I firmly believe every online game should have provisions for votes to 'randomize teams' or to 'balance teams'.

A simple unobtrusive change would be that when a map starts, if any players were already connected, the "top" player goes to side A, the next two to side B, the next to side A, the next to B... etc. (The two-person switcheroo makes sense when you think about it a bit.)

It could still be thrown into total disarray by incoming players, but at least it's a start.

Terr, the only issue with an auto shuffle like that is when buddy gamers just wanna come in to play together. They're likely to manually switch teams if they get seperated and if they can't do that, they'll leave.

Not saying it's not a good idea, it's just not perfect. Then again, what is?

You might want to think about only switching up the top 2 or 3 players. Give the non-hotshots a chance to work together more and figure out what they are doing (wrong).

This is how I feel. I usually play where the game puts me, and let the cards fall where they may. No, I don't like getting my ass kicked in a pub, but I can handle a little humiliation from time to time. Besides, I look at this as an opportunity to improve my game. When this happens to me, I usually don't cap at all, but work on my LD or MD. If I am really in the mood for an ass kicking, then I will play HO against a stacked team. 1 HO vs. 4 LD = a Dead HO. I say bring it on and give me all you got.

there was a tribes 1 admin mod that had this ability. it rarely worked. most often it just ended up pising everyone off.

pubs are pubs for the most part they suck.
