Would anyone like to see Siege again?

Siege could be only the tip of the iceburg... With the Unreal engine driving this one, there's a whole hella lotta things that folks could be working on.

Down with CTF, I say!! Let's play something new!!!

D&D, Seige, and to a certain extent C&h are by far my favorite gametypes. sadly, i can only usually play these gametypes (in t2 anyway) with bots. T2 bots no less.

I love the Assault gametype from the first time I played it on UT. When I heard about Seige for T2 I was excited for it. Didn't stick around long enough to really get into it. The gametype works so well for so many different games. Assault is the reason I bought UT2k4.

Hope the pond guys make a sweet version that fits the Tribes world.

I think they will pull through. :) I'm helping to make maps for it.

It doesn't hurt to get the ball rolling with some classic favorites though. I'm all for unique and creative client created maps and mods, but I have no problems with people resurrecting the old before moving onto newer material. (as long as new material eventually comes)

I would MUCH rather have Defend and Destroy, ala T1.

CnH rocked. I was always enjoyed playing that, it was all I played for the first month or two after getting Tribes.
Towers

gd I loved that map.. but then again it was the only one in the demo, so...

Did anyone play, or remember a T1 mod called VIP Assasination?

It was one of the most interesting game types I saw in T1... basicly it boiled down to one guy on each side being the VIP (who was stuck in medium armour, but also recived constant slow regeneration) who had to be killed. You could identify the VIP by the flag on his back. There was also a decoy that had the same abilities and limitations as the VIP, but wasn't actually the target. Maps were set up with multiple bases that only the VIP or decoy could take control of, but enough firepower could destroy the control nodes.

In pub play were players didn't know the rules, it sorta stank... but in a game where folk knew what they were doing it was hugely tactical and alot of fun!

Yes, we ran it on our server from time to time. There was a fun VIP tourny. I believe Nazghul (Naz something, god I'm old and my memory is fading) wrote it.

Nerz? You mean the guy that used to run the D&D server out of Chicago?

I've drank waaay to many beers since then, but if my memory serves, 'Nazgul's No Noobies' was THE original elite pub from the pre-MD, pre-mad-skijumping-HO, pre-I'm-better-than-you-u-omg-u-sux-lolol days. And Nazgul was a straight p1mp. A great, great server.

No, it was Naz something. He played for LoD or something, then played with us in I/O for a bit.

Nazghul, Nazgul, Nazerak...something.

I just realized this today, how could we have siege without cloaks? The "jug vs cloaker" rivalry in siege is my favorite part! I miss all those sneaky cloakers! Anyone remember Kamakazi? :)
