Grappler = could ruin this game

Well, it shouldn't be removed from the game, what if it used energy to shoot and stay connected, just as much as the burner to shoot, and a constant rate of energy consumed to keep it connected? So it will only be used say when you are skiing and need to make like a right angle turn, just shoot once at a wall or something to fling you in the direction, but you wouldn't have a huge boost in direction without a consequence.

Your logic = flawed

the grappler probably wont be used much except for maybe 2 - 4 maps.

wow .. new innovation? the grappler weapon/item has been in several games prior to T:V, I don't call that a new innovation by any means .. I call that re-hashing ole ideas into a new environment, not innovation.

But the fact is people are getting huge boosts in it plus the energy pack and even some noob skiing and the person already capped.

Also, I don't play LD or chase, and I think the grappler is a bit overpowered.

the grapple is a newb weapon that takes no skill compared to the skill of skiing & capping in T1.

you know... ld do wear E packs as well.... and it is called a disk jump. Any good ld that i have played with find ways to keep up with me/kill me.

I forgot to mention that I am definately not the best player in Tribes, but I can easily cap with the grappler and not even fire a shot at anyone chasing me.

using an epack boost and grappling is a lot easier than hitting a perfect route though, and a lot more powerful

But you have a grappler, they have to shoot at you to keep up and two disc jumps would kill the ld unless they were damn good disc jumps.

Cappers don't even need to shoot at their chasers with the grappler.

lol my arguments arnt dumb. they are about the ld in this thread who complain cause they cant chase a grappler... you dont see (for example) good ld such as slam, carnova, ares, zelgadis etc in this thread complaining about it.

the challenge isn't getting the flag home tho it's the actual grab. sure, it was like that in T1 and also T2 classic, but it's just a hell of a lot easier in this game. And instead of running _ski_ routes you just find a nice hill to give you lots of speed, grapple towards flag, grapple towards home, voila

I don't want to peple to get me wrong.. I think the grappler is great.. it will do phenomenal things for capping and escaping. I am all for it.

But when a team is spread acrossed the country and I go to a 150+ ping server to be with my team. Well.. it's fustrating as hell trying to lead along a parabole. If you take out the rope, he will just sling another. 3+ defenders plus this tactic = Turtling. Reguardless of what others say, even with a good ping this is difficult..

It's as bad as hiding in the base if not worse. It stalemated that server till I got fed up and left. It needs to be destroyable at the hook!
