pyrot3chnic 10-22-2004, 01:33 PM Looking good pr24.. destroyer, how's CC going? can we expect beta soon? Asura 10-22-2004, 02:36 PM is anyone doing a Scarabrae port yet? :D i know its not that popular, but it'd be cool to play in T:V. nice and big. LightingBlast 10-22-2004, 02:38 PM Redo SH, and Feign too while ur at it lol. Asura 10-22-2004, 02:39 PM BroadSide is also a notsopopular map, but a good port. making these bases must be a bitch though. destroyer193 10-22-2004, 02:44 PM Looking good pr24.. destroyer, how's CC going? can we expect beta soon? BE side is pretty much done, including terrain on that side... I started imperial last night, gotta do the 2 imperial specific bases, and then lighting, and then terrain shazbot... i've been pretty busy this morning and will be leaving in an hour and will be gone for the rest of the day... I expect to get alot done tomorrow... i dont have anything going on. expect a beta possibly sunday afternoon/night... Calder 10-22-2004, 03:14 PM http://www.trivesvengrances.com/beachblitz.WMV Beachblitz, basically nothing done but terrain. The platforms are just to show where bases will go. I'm trying to figure out how scaled Z should be... it seems a bit tall to me right now, suggestions? pyrot3chnic 10-22-2004, 03:30 PM Wow, the spread of the map seems fine to me. The Z does seem a bit on the large side, but I don't know. We've had a lot of smaller maps, might be nice to have something Isle-like. Jamslice 10-22-2004, 03:35 PM the z on that map looks awesome, I've missed big scarabrae-style hills and valleys Santa 10-22-2004, 03:45 PM http://www.trivesvengrances.com/beachblitz.WMV Beachblitz, basically nothing done but terrain. The platforms are just to show where bases will go. I'm trying to figure out how scaled Z should be... it seems a bit tall to me right now, suggestions? cool. z looks fine to me. Would help to texture paint it a little to get a better view. Calder 10-22-2004, 03:46 PM cool. z looks fine to me. Would help to texture paint it a little to get a better view. I just flopped on the meadows texture :D Krage 10-22-2004, 05:37 PM Those hills are lookin a little tall to me compared with the original BB. I'd say maybe 80% of that height would look more accurate but that isn't necessarily better... Calder 10-22-2004, 05:40 PM That is what I mean by the z-scaling. Jamslice 10-22-2004, 06:03 PM accurate is all well and good, but damn it looks fun the way it is now {A} PR24 10-23-2004, 08:37 AM Guys don't be afraid to make a few changes on classic maps if it's for the better. [TLB] Xyphoid 10-23-2004, 08:39 AM Sorry but I dont want to see old structures in this new game. T:V is set years before the original Tribes and the new bases created for T:V look bloody awesome. Would it not be better to create new structures using the new look designs as a basis, instead of recycling designs from OLD games? Look to the future, not to the past! dudeman 10-23-2004, 01:31 PM map request - I want a map that has a large terrain with deep ski valleys (like highlands) but the bases are far apart, and HIGH up in the air (there can be a couple platform floats that "step" up to it) I want to see bases seriously high up, so that if you walked off without jetting you would die when you hit the ground also optional - the map would be arrayed like this b1 ------ t1 ------------ ------------ ------------ ------------ ------------ ------------ ------------ t2 ------ b2 2 bases, and 2 terroritories instead of having rovers, all at corners Cinderkarst 10-23-2004, 02:07 PM http://www.trivesvengrances.com/beachblitz.WMV Beachblitz, basically nothing done but terrain. The platforms are just to show where bases will go. I'm trying to figure out how scaled Z should be... it seems a bit tall to me right now, suggestions? It's a touch tall I'd say, but that may be better for T:V. Looks really good though. Make sure you put in the Jagged Claw sandcastle. slogg 10-23-2004, 03:12 PM Make sure you put in the Jagged Claw sandcastle. I thought it was the iceridge base.... i cant remember real good though Njal Storm 10-23-2004, 03:21 PM there was a t2 custom map called valley. that would rule in tv. adamant_2001 10-24-2004, 05:21 AM I've started on a tiny CTF map with low but smooth hills to allow for players to build speed. As well as floating bases at T1 style altitudes. http://www.savant-online.net/graphics/dunes_scrn1.png Looking at the Blood Eagle base. http://www.savant-online.net/graphics/dunes_scrn2.png Viewing the Children of the Phoenix base from the BE flag. Players will spawn near their flag, while the enemy base and sensor is near the flag. It's overall an experiment map to see if an action packed map can be made using an odd arrangement like that. Right now I just need to drop in the inventories, flags, and make the teams then functional. I'm also debating having fuel as a game mode for the map. | ||
