I really don't see the problem with the grappler in the cavemap, takes you about 5 seconds to skiboost that map anyhow... Make the grappler unlimited! :)

Unlimited in the long run, yes, but you shouldn't be able to whore it. I'd say that rendering it useless for a short time after 3-5 shots quickly after one another would be just.

After personally seeing the grappler used to more of its potential last night than I've yet to see in any other pub or scrim, I feel that it will have the most impact on changing Tribes gameplay than anything T2 came up with in the vehicle department.

Honestly it feels more like T1 Renegades did in comp play than anything else. This will not be a 'chasing' game. You're either going to stop them on the stand or you're going to have to duel for it in a standoff..... not much inbetween considering the rapid turnaroud you can get with the grappler.

I'm not sure I'm up for something as intense as T1 Ren / TV Grappler anymore :scared:

the souloution to the grappler is NOT hitting it with the nerf bat, but figuering out tricks to counter it. for example- Speed Pack+ Chaingun= Spam cannon on active mode. perfect for smoking those damn grapple monkeys. of which i am one :D

If you have a good ping, that is.

For those of you saying that you can chase a grappler down, play against people that know how to grapple.

A good grappler can not only get insane speed in the cavern, but can also change direction immediately, making you lose whatever speed you have. Throw in the fact that there are obstacles everywhere to provide cover, if you don't stop him at the stand he's gone.

Any other map, cappers can be whored fairly rapidly due to their openness, but Rabbit on cavern just shows how unbalanced it is. 5-6 people chasing a grappler takes a while to bring them down just using chaining. That's 5-6 people. 8v8 matches you're lucky to have 3 chasing from flag stand.

[edit : And this isn't pub rabbit, this is rabbit among the team with good players]

didn't I chase you down a couple of time in cavern a few nights ago? not bragging .. just proving a point ... it’s not impossible.

I'm not a good grappler. I grapple in pubs out of boredom. I usually LD/HO.
