What some people can't seem to figure out is just because you CAN stop these things doesnt mean you WANT to spend your gaming time doing it.

The other fact is: All of these things can be countered by effective teamwork... which is exactly what you do not get in pubs.

First of all what are these so called veterans calling the members noobs for? That is just plain wrong. "If you want to be looked at as a veteran, then act like one".

The biggest thing i see from this thread, is all the so-called Vets whining about the O-Sniping and the turteling? what i'm getting from this , is that the vets would prefer all others to stand their and watch them cap? Well that might be nice in a perfect world , um but not in tribes.

I will not play this game with one hand tied behind my back! If you got my flag your dead , with whatever i can kill you with......may it be a sniper rifle , a disc, or a mortor. I'v played this game from T1 to T2 and now T:V and i will not be told how to play by a bunch of whining Vets who think they rule.

As an LD in T:V, I have rarely seen a competant o-sniper that is useful. Sure, there are some players out there that can snipe rather well, but it isn't as annoying anymore for some reason.

As an HO in T:V, I get really excited when the other team starts to turtle. Just means action will be more intense in a smaller area. I rack up more kills usually and I have a blast. I may get the capper or I may not, but its fun as hell as HO to try to break a turtle ... Although I would hate to be playing D and your capper turtles ... you are just asking for green death when that happens.

HO is one of the two positions you can still play normally during a turtle. The other is like Gen D or something...

I agree somewhat, but at a heightened pace.

All turtling means to HOs is there there is another objective. LDs now have to play very differently, defending another player and quickly killing enemy offense rather than being able to drop a disc on the flag and chase someone down with chain/nades like they usually have to do. Cappers can no longer work on cap routes and are either forced to play a different position or leave the server... turtling situations basically temporarily changes the whole object of CTF and therefore ruins the fun of people who are only there to enjoy a CTF game. If you enjoy turtling situations, maybe you should start a vote to bring back Siege, because that's pretty much the same thing. If you don't think it's the same thing, then explain how it should be different in the vote thread.

I was just on East #3 and there were O-Snipers while 5150|vir was there and he wouldn't kick him. Guess the joke's on us, eh?

The ban/kick features dont work in game right now.

Maybe we will have to do what we did to the members/noobs in T2 in T:V as well and lock them out of the top servers by only allowing approved GUIDs to join the servers.

I was hoping that wouldn't be required, but its shaping up that way again.

What is funny about that is that I couldn’t give a shazbot. If most "veterans" (because I know there are a few of you guys that are semi-intelligent and decent individuals) are like the few that post here with nothing better to say then "stupid member" because you lack the mental capacity to actually THINK of something worth saying, I really have no desire to meet the rest of you.

We really wanted to avoid the problem by providing "no rules" servers which allowed things like o-sniping and passworded servers with rules. However, it is making things a bit confusing for noobs and damaging the original intent. Not sure if we will make it GUID specific, but we may make the passwords much harder to obtain.

I haven't seen the 5150 servers myself... but perhaps you could change their names to something like:
5150: no rules
5150: some rules
5150: all rules

You get the idea
