T:V Does Not Support Voodoo 4/5 Based Card Sets [Msg For Thrax]

I notice T:V has been build somewhat off of ATI..but alot of people still have there old cards such as [voodoo 2,3,4] and they are pretty happy with there cards.

If there's away to disable or add an ATI graphix disabling features in T:V that would surely bring more "tribes players" to the new community of T:V

---- SYSTEM SPEC's ----
Windows xp home edit
2.80 ghz [P4]
80gb hd
cd-rw
256mb ram
DirectX 9c
voodoo4 4500 PCI video card
-------------------------

Now i thought this would have been enough to support T:V but to my disapointment it wasnt simply because of this error. Being that i have one
of the top system proccesors on the market and being able not to run a great game because of my vid card that i "removed" from my old comp cause "Intel Graphics Extream" just sucks.

Video: Amigamerlin 3.0 for voodoo4 4500 PCI (1)

Error setting display mode: No fullscreen display modes found (D3D_OK). Please delete your TV.ini file if this error prevents you from starting the game.

History: UD3DRenderDevice::UnSetRe s <- UD3DRenderDevice::SetRes <- UWindowsViewport::TryRend erDevice <- UWindowsViewport::OpenWin dow <- UGameEngine::Init <- InitEngine

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Okay! so i deleted the TV.ini also changed a few options sence im a "scripter" then I started the game again still got the same problem.

The Moral of my story is "YES" im going to get either G-force MX or Radion MX next month's but i wish before the finale release of T:V to the GNU that they can configure it for where that it can Support the entire voodoo Series.

cause the real Harsh story is.... alot of people are broke and cant6 afford a new video card + pay for installation of it. though I alrady know how to do al of this its just a dead fact to whom it concerns.

----- Strait To THe Point ----------

Have T:V support people that have Fast updated computers with sucky video cards....cause not all Manufactures install the most updated vid card on the marker....so many people pull there old vid card and install it.... My guess is alot of the tribes community is like this..... thanks if you do

Thankyou For You Time [T:V Staff]

Unfortunately with new games like T:V you can't always cater to people with outdated cards. It gets to a certain point where you just have to say "Either upgrade or play an older game." It's far too much effort for game developers to make a game playable on cards that have been obsolete for years. For the consumer you sacrifice far too much just to be able to load up the game with such a low end card. You just need to invest in a better card some how.

My voodoo5 5500 didnt even work right with t2 and that thing was pretty new at the time. you could get a card at newegg for 50 bucks that would be better than that old 4500.

A processor doesnt mean jack if you dont have the vidcard/ram to accomodate that speed. Im sorry but if your too poor to get a GF2 for like 30 bucks, i think you have bigger problems then running T:V.....

Glide is long gone, and you cant be that poor if you have a 2.8ghz pentium 4. Poor people run 486's. Gf4 mx440 39$ at newegg thats less than the game is gonna cost. And sure its garbage but at least the game will boot.

aka poor people who can afford a new computer but not a new video card to buy + install. One of the secret 3dfx fanboy forums sent you, didn't they? Voodoo is dead; get over it and move on. If IG even spent a single minute working in Voodoo support, they wasted that minute.

That card is about 3 years too old for this game. You can't expect that era of card to work.

I'll send you my Geforce MX 400. It runs Tribes:Vengeance just fine. And the card is about 4 years old....
