The old medkits that you could actually CHOOSE when/where to use were great. It added an element of strategy. Now you've got 5 players storming for a dead body trying to grab the "auto-medkit", and 1/2 the time its no good to you because you have full health already. It seems like another attempt to noobify Tribes, now players don't have to even think to repair themselves because its done for them. Bring back the T1/T2 style medpacks!!

Why is it "too late". What would be so hard about equipping every play with a medkit that can be activated by hitting a button?

I just have to remember not to reflexively press 'H' when i get shot up

Scavenging seems to be easier in T:V, at least to me. I still haven't broken the happen of hitting my use kit keybind.

In some ways I like it, and in other ways I don't. Fights don't last as long in T:V, but it does allow you to kill more people. In the end, I would like it the old way, but I will get use to the new way.

The only downside I see to it right now is I dogfight someone.. he gets me down to 1/4 health, but I win and before I can get to the healthpack some other guy swoops in and picks it up.

The new system works fine for me.

* ParoxysM likes old way...

The old way makes it easier to get through each fight, and adds a lot more strategy to each fight.

If you make it through each fight, the new way allows you to go longer. . . but after a while of playing T:V, I am starting to lean back to liking the old way better.

So, Agree!

Yeah, I'm having to relearn and rebind a lot of my keys too.

The old way was stupid and pointless, everyone used there kit before they died so you might as well have just added that health to their bar. With the new system you get a reward for being a better duelist.. you get more health for your next duel.

I'm sorry, but knowing when to hit "H" in a fight isnt a strategy. Its not even a tactic.

Not true, if you were good enough, you could get them before they used it. It was a careful balance of holding back and then trying to kill them all at once. One Disk, they probably wont touch the repair kit right away. Then you get close and finish them with a grenade and disk or a mine. Clearly this didn't happen every time, but I found 1 of 5 times I was rewarded with a health kit.

Osiris I never said that, I love CTF. This new system of healthkits is a GOD SEND for Mid-Field defenders. Much like minedisking, I can't say I'm going to miss the old health kit system.
