The Best thing about T:V!

After 10 Hours of public gameplay something about T:V struck me, and it was pretty much the main reason I was enjoying the game. That reason was:

You Spawn in Medium Armour

It might not sound like much but If you think about it you no longer spawn in the nimble light armour that is suitable for the 2 Most important Roles in Tribes. Capping and LD. Instead you spawn as the multipurpose Medium which is while not weak in any respect but alot less specialised than Lights and Heavys. What does this mean I hear you ask?

1. The Inventory Stations, Generators etc are more valuble so you can switch into your L armour and go capping, this makes base upkeeping much a much more important role.
2. Because of the fact that you had to take the time to go kit yourself up, your in game life is more valuable. People dont Ctrl-K and thus the game becomes alot more tactical instead of people in spawn armour storming constantly.

I dont know if it was the intentions of IG when changing the spawn armour type, to make these changes to the gameplay. But either way they certainly deserve credit for opening up new dimensions of gameplay :).

No doubt that a default spawn armor of medium can still be functional and get your defense back on its feet.

Medium armor is very useful for capping now.

I ctrl-k... er... b-1 or 2 a lot. There really isn't any more reason not to.

Of course the medium spawn also has seriously screwed with the HO Position dynamic.
