Ive played alot with the sniper the past few days and was wondering what exactly it is that ppl complain about?
Is it that the shot gets a little off when firing while moving the crosshair?

Neo has it right.
The sniper is not like anything previously in the Tribes series and it is an excellent change. We played AAO for two years and as with any game, accuracy is vital. Try sniping on the run in AAO and see what happens. .. this change is one that should remain static in this build and the final release. :-)

The rifle sucks as it is, I can't get any ATA shots with it which I used to be really good at.
IGA said they wanted to put an ammo limit of 10 shots on it, they never said anything about it not shooting straight. When I pull the trigger, I expect it to go where the dot on my reticle is or very close. ATM it can go 50m+ away from where your aiming when the target is moving which is completely rediculous.

Tribes is not AAO. Tribes has traditionally always allowed players to snipe accurately on the run. I don't know what AAO is, but I'm guessing that it doesn't have the same options for movement (i.e. jetpacks) and movement speed that Tribes has.
I don't think this was an intended "change," and I personally dislike trying to pass of something that seems like a flaw, as a feature.

If they just make the rifle shoot where you aim it will be fine. Sniping is getting harder anyways because people are getting faster.

Yes, lets leave a bug that randomly makes a high-precision gun lag behind your reticule in the game :bigthumb:

I dont like ammo and energy limitations combined, I'd like to see one or the other. Preferably just energy like its always been. I dont recall thinking the old laser rifles were too overpowered because of their unlimited ammo.

They thought they would try to combat the "osniper" by adding ammo to the rifle as well as an energy drain. *shrug* w/e

Eh, making it ammo based wouldve helped stop o sniping a little maybe. I dunno that seems like a rushed solution to alleviate that sort of problem. O sniping was kind of policed by the community anyway.

The rifle is messed up. The laser isn't drawn right most of the time.

all I want is for them to code it such that the accuracy isn't so sensitive to your ping. And so there is no built-in lag or, if there is, make it a definite and very small amount rather than randomizing it.
and a mouse-smoothing option under the controls menu might do nicely.
