[All USB Mouse Users] MX700 not detecting on boot?

I have an MX700 mouse that I plug into the USB port on top of my computer. After every 4-6 boots the mouse will not detect when I boot up. I can't move it at all. I tried reconnecting it using the button underneath and the base seems to detect it, but windows doesn't. I have to take the usb cord and plug it directly into the back of my PC for it to detect again. I figured it was a problem with the motherboard, but after every 4-6 boots with the mouse plugged directly into the motherboard, it stops detecting again. At this point, I take it out and plug it into the top of my pc again. I am using Windows XP SP1 with the latest mouseware software. I couldn't find anything on the web about this.

Has anyone else experienced something like this with any usb mouse?

yes, i have to restart once or twice b4 it comes back, has happened a few times now
