Equaknox 09-04-2004, 12:14 AM Right now, the turrets are still extreamly over powered. The damage, and accuracy is set very high. I always thought they wernt going to play a huge roll in this game.
Will they be nerfed in the release?
Also, will they make it so 1 disc and kill a enemy mine?
I disagree with the turret statements.. I think they are fine...
Mirage 09-04-2004, 12:20 AM i think they could lose a bit of accuracy but that's it.
they arent very accurate if you MOVE and not stand in ONE PLACE
Equaknox 09-04-2004, 12:22 AM Interpolated CG turrets :(
Have about 2 of them shooting at you..
Dead in 2secs .....
Mirage 09-04-2004, 12:22 AM They'repretty accurate anyways...
-ivan 09-04-2004, 12:33 AM They can be placed way too close together.
Bridger 09-04-2004, 12:37 AM ...
Too close together = splsah damage kills them both.
They have an extremly small range, just stand outside it and disc them twice.
or, OR, maybe your HO could send a morter their way, since it's his job to clear the flag :o!
{A} PR24 09-04-2004, 12:37 AM They can be placed way too close together.
Bingo, there is the only problem. They need to be forced further apart when being deployed.
Greywolf 09-04-2004, 12:40 AM lol they die in 2 hits. It takes them twice that time to kill them. Takes a mortar to destroy one
Fugitive 09-04-2004, 12:45 AM Turrets are fine. There's a limited number of them, they're easily destroyed, and are only truly deadly in concentrated packs.
Ceiling_Fan 09-04-2004, 12:46 AM I haven't had much of a problem with them. The only time they really bother me is when I'm in the tank, which can't possibly move fast enough to dodge them and shoots slowly enough that if you miss once the turrets totally rape you.
Other than that, just keep moving.
Nutcracker 09-04-2004, 12:50 AM Turrets are fine.

GB.Arkady 09-04-2004, 01:01 AM saw plenty of grabs tonight where the capper barely got touched by the turrets unless he was already badly hurt, i think they're fine myself so far, they can be deadly when there's more than one firing at you, but if you're moving fast enough they should be no real problem.
i like that they are also basically robot chainguns (at least the model looks it.)
Equaknox 09-04-2004, 01:02 AM I hope im getting more responses from people who play Offense. I know the D wouldnt want them nerfed. :o
Ceiling_Fan 09-04-2004, 01:03 AM I like the whole 'robot chaingun' look too. It's spiffty.

I wouldnt expect any cappers getting hit by turrets if they are moving fast enough.

I play both. They're devastating when they're massed and something knocks you off a route or otherwise slows you down. Then by the time you get moving again they've chewed you to pieces. But if you just keep moving, and by moving I mean skiing not jetting straight up or something, then you can get past them fairly quickly.
Plus they're fragile and you have to wait for them to respawn at a station rather than purchasing them.
They seem pretty easy to clear and they are easy to spot. Besides, it's not like the D can spew them out of an inv.

I'm a jack of all trades, and I've never thought to myself, "These things are simply too powerful." They only deploy on flat surfaces, their individual rounds are relatively weak, and two discs pulverize them, even with a repair station nearby.
