Beta install problems.

Just dl'ed the Beta and went to install it and after it got done reading contents of package it gave an error message stating "The contents of this file cannot be unpacked. The executable you are attempting to run has been corrupted. Please obtain another copy of the file, verify its integrity and try again." Anyone else have this problem or have a solution? (I have a screenshot if anyone REALLY needs it, Figured I wouldnt waste the space)

You need winzip 8 or higher to unzip it.

Like I said in the other thread (Just use that one from now on?), I have Winzip 9.0 so that cant be the problem.

said it in the other thread too....I tried a diff dir 1st time & got that....2nd time I loaded to default & it worked

What do you mean when you say that you loaded to default directory on the 2nd try? What should the default directory be?

are you using windows xp?

Getting same problem. Downloaded it twice, the .exe begins automatically decompressing (why you think that your version of Winzip would affect this is beyond me) and then cuts out, stating the file is corrupt. Further checking reveals that the file size is a fair amount smaller than it should be.

I think this is more to do with the servers people are downloading it from cutting out before it's fully downloaded. This could be to do with how the file is structured and (for some god unknown reason) it thinks it's sent it all when it hasn't, or (more likely) the servers people are hammering are simply getting fucked.

I'm on XP...Getting same corrupted message as Hablos.

I noticed that it finished downloading about 20 minutes before it was even near being finished...You might be right Thriky.

I have 3 HDs.....normally all my games are on D:

I went to install to D:\T:V or something like that.....custom directory

got the error they are all talking about

so on a guess I rebooted....& installed to the default C:\ etc etc etc that it brings up

worked perfectly

Don't even get that far. The file is 100mb smaller than it should be.

I have the same problem as everyone else. its unpacking or whatever you wanna call it and then I get the corupter msg. Iv'e Dled it from one of those mirrors in the other thread because FP acts up in Mozilla Firefox. Now i'm waiting in line again using IE and i'm gonna see if that works. but from what i'm hearing I think I'm just wasting my time. I wanna play T:V!!!

wow maybe you are right thriky. I never saw it complete, was away from the comp but it finished about a half hour faster then it was suppost to. effing FP.

From where are you downloading it?

Use a download manager. This has happened to me twice now on the 5assedmonkey mirror alone.

I DLed it from 5assedmonkey. Iv'e been using Firefox with its built in DL manager thing.

Ok...I solved the problem:

Use bit torrent. Re-download it using that, but choose the option to continue with a previous download, then choose the previously downloaded file and it will finish downloading it completely. Depending on how far you got in the first try, might take a while. Took about 20 more minutes for me.

I DLed that a few minutes ago but I don't really understand what it is. I tryed DLing the torrent in the other thread with BT just sat there blank when i was trying to DL(?) it. i think I'll check back in this thread and try tomorrow. g'night everyone.
