[Background]
So I've been playing the WoW stress test, but unfortunately I've been crashing frequently due something corrupt in sound.mpq. I looked on the forums and saw some other people were having the same problem. Obviously, this is mostly on Blizzard's end, but a few people said that after they updated their audio drivers, they didn't crash anymore. So my second problem begins...

[Problem]
I have "SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio" which came on an Asus motherboard I purchased recently. The driver version is 5.12.1.3630. I couldn't find any drivers on www.soundmax.com (they're apparently notorious for having bad support), so I had to find it on the Asus website, here (http://www.asus.com.tw/support/download/item.aspx?ModelName=P4PE-X) (V5.12.01.3665). After I unzipped the archive and ran the exe, the installation seemed to be going smoothly, but when it finished, this error popped up:

Yes, I tried restarting. Yes, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling.

That "Severe" sounds pretty..... severe. I'm frightened.
