Force Blade, whatever funny name you give it. I've never managed to knife anyone in this game, and I'm wondering if it's even worth my time. I assumed it'd work like the Shocklance did... instant kills in the back. Is this true or is it a joke?

it's a joke mainly for SP, but put in MP for continuity

I think the single shot to the back would be great for the knife, given the fact that it has only very limited range...

no no no no no. While the SL was fun to use, it was way overpowered and I'm glad it's gone.

i think it would be hilarious if you had a shocklance in the knife, or even a definite half-kill for it, instantly 50% . i would do all sorts of grenade knife combos, lol.

I think it's hilarious the way the blade pops out at the bad guys.

should do a bit more dmg all around IMO but no instant back kills.

It should be a single shot to the back for a kill. With the ability to see everyone on the map 90% of the time, you deserve to die if you let someone get that close.

The knife is almost impossible to use in any case. It should do more damage, just for the hell of it. I'd vote up to fifty.

True, even comparing it to the shocklance is dumb. Its range is about 20 times smaller...

I will never use the blade in it;s current form.

It's your option of last resort, or the fun thing you use when waiting for your match to start. It's not supposed to do a lot of damage, and there is no way we're going to change that. It exists so that you are never without the potential to do damage.

I can't wait for the demo where the chaser runs out of ammo and ends up knifing the capper on his stand and making a return.

i use it a lot in pubs, so far my kill list is up to 15. the trick is to get someone when they spawn or when they arnt paying attention.

How can you even call that a weapon let alone expect anyone to "fall back" on it when they're out of ammo. It's completely useless. It's extremely difficult to actually land a knife hit let alone kill someone with it. At least make it worth falling back on. Going up against someone when you're out of ammo and they aren't with just a knife is suicide. You're better off respawning. You've basically added something that no one in their right mind would ever use seriously, congrats I guess.

It's not as useless as having NOTHING. So it's better than you're fallback in T1/T2.

In t2 at least you had several weapon options that required no ammo. I rarely ever had to "fall back" on anything and if I did I fell back on ctrl+k. The knife is funny to mess around with but it has no practical uses in competition or hell even in a pub.

Yes I understand that it's for singleplayer but why not make it useful for multiplayer and singleplayer? If I'm going to have a key forcefully bound to something I at least want it to be useful.
