Fallback weapon? I'd probably rather suicide then use that stupid thing. What a waste. The range is so freaking short you don't stand a chance, especially when you and your enemy are flying around at a hundred kph through the air. The knife is like driving your Ferarri at another with a screwdriver out the window to try to bust the other one up. You'll never hit him, if you do you won't do anything, and you'll probably die trying.

So Thrax, basically you put in a gimp weapon for no purpose besides sh*ts, giggles, and TKs.

Knife is worthless and it should stay that way.

So it's safe to say that the knife is the elf gun of T:V then?

Which is why nobody used it.

ELF was very useful, especially on Quagmire :D Obnoxious little light armors think they're so fast...

The Knife is more like the Blaster... but then again, the Blaster at least went through shields...

I meant the T1 elf gun. Of course it was useful in T2. I never left base without one in T2.

I think it should do less damage, and when hit the victim avatar should make a chuckling sound, ot even a laughing sound.
...and how about you can charge it for a while and when full you can knockback someone for a fair distance.

disagree, just never developed as a weapon. advanced turret farmers in t1 used it very well in maps like dx before they went cluster eff happy.

I was expecting something though, like Diamond Sword having this wickedass claymore to chop heavies in half. Not to have a dev respond with 'LOL we put it in as a joke guyz'.

You should get a style point for getting a knife kill at least. Might as well throw in headshots as well.

i used the knife and i like it. underpowered? yes. all the more embarrasing when someone gets offed by it. (i've only gotten 2 kills with it but all the other tries were... entertaining)

I think it's a waste of time to put a useless weapon into a game. Sure, it might get some laughs, but it still seems like a waste. Even the Blaster in T1 and T2 wasn't entirely useless.

Yes I understand that it's for singleplayer but why not make it useful for multiplayer and singleplayer? If I'm going to have a key forcefully bound to something I at least want it to be useful.
Well I guess you better get used to it.

It's not supposed to do a lot of damage, and there is no way we're going to change that.

If you think about it with ur load out u should never really run out of ammo. Just load the blaster or the burner and you will never run out. Now as to getting rid of it? Why bother doesn't hurt anything and if you want to bind that key to something else then do so. After all I don't use 4 or 5 for my deploy and carrry. Moved it to diff keys. Just use ur personal preference. Some like it and use it some don't no need to gripe.

Well now we know who the crappy players are and who the great players are, which also separates the smart one's from the retards.

Elf Gun was the shazbot. Maybe you didn't use it right? And the knife sounds like a great idea. It's a weapon for people, like me, who never give up. As long as I have something that does damage and I'm engaged in battle, I use it. Pressing control and k simultaneously is retarded. I go for the highest score while helping the team win and killing myself lowers my score.
Hell, maybe you can fend off someone with the knife long enough to make a fast break?

I am so pissed that I can't get the beta yet to see what all this complaining is about.

I sincerely hope you don't do that in competitive play. I doubt chasing down players with the Blade will push your team towards victory.

As for the knife being useless, I think it would make a lot more sense to replace the knife with the Blaster, since nobody will use the Blaster in their loadouts and it's much more useful than the Blade. Unfortunately, I doubt anything will change in regards to this issue, so there's little point in persisting.
