2845 may have a closed beta or open beta. No one can know yet, although it's a possibility.

And it may be sold. The game is being handed over to Irrational after all. Depending on how it turns out, VU may decide it's a good enough game to turn into a "complete game" and box on its own.

Just because it's being made by modding the scripts doesn't mean it's a typical mod. It's being made for VU, not for the public. They get the finished product and get to decide what to do with it.

Double-edged sword cuz then there would be little audience for the other stuff. Kinda like posting in the scripting and modifying forum vs. here.

Well if they want to, sure, thats their perogative. I don't think they'd enjoy being slow roasted over an open flame by the fanbase for doing it though. At this point we have enough momentum and enough fan support that I think a wide release is a foregone conclusion. Wether we make the store shelf or not will depend greatly on the quality of the finished product, but based on what I see day to day in our private staff forums I give us pretty good odds. What we're doing in there isn't sexy, its farking magic baby.

Is anyone going to be making any money off this?
No. This project is completely a labor of love for it's creators, but once finished it will be turned over to Sierra to distribute as they wish. This includes charging for it if they so desire.
