Killjoy 09-01-2004, 09:44 AM Below is just a couple of things that new players may benefit from. Feel free to post any you feel are useful and/or tell me I am full of shazbot :) <3
1. You can DJ when you hit a Catapult. Using a Catapult -> DJ -> EBoost is great for a bit of quick MO/HO action at map start.
2. Speedpack + Blaster really effs stuff up, good for on flag D.
3. Deployables are more useful on offense than defense sometimes. Mining enemy Catapults and entrance ways. Dropping a turret behind thier base, etc.
4. It is easier to defend a flag in the field than a flag on the stand, timing returns to coinciede with your own cappers needs is key.
5. You can grapple yourself to the flag stand to minimize knockback, however you are also a sitting duck for spam.
6. If you cap medium using the Buckler to deflect LD Discs and/or dislodge the on flag D can be pretty useful.
7. You don't have to have a spinfusor in every loadout. Seriously.
Calder 09-01-2004, 09:46 AM If you DJ on the catapult repeatedly, it will get damaged, and eventually disabled.

I too have been thinking this but am having a really hard time going through with it.
This is a great thread idea, keep em coming.
Killjoy 09-01-2004, 09:48 AM Yeah but you can repair it easily, but good point.
I whored it all last night and only had to rep it twice since other defense players would also repair it with their love cloud. Or the few times I went HO/Rep I juiced it first.
GammA 09-01-2004, 09:52 AM I have alot of tips and tricks. I just don't feel like giving them out.
but gj!

Shoddy 09-01-2004, 10:29 AM From the various jetting threads:
Do not jet in the air to correct your course (unless you want to go higher), just use the direction keys.
Do not hold more than one direction key (e.g. forward + right) at a time when correcting your course in the air.

Hmm, this might take some getting used to... I'll have to try this tonight.
Amadeus 09-01-2004, 10:42 AM Do not walk around your own base with the buckler equipped, as you may accidentally knock your teammates out of their positions.

yeah.. and if you want to get the most distance out of a flight, ALWAYS hold forward. it won't reduce your lift like it did in the other games, and it will always make you go farther.

Writer 09-01-2004, 11:46 AM The burner rocks for flag D. Set the flagstand on FIRE, baby!
I got 30 kills with the thing last night on one map (the one with the 3 ruined buildings, whatever it's called).

That would be Emerald. And I agree, that damn burner is a bitch to get through without dying, even when you're banking into the flag at 200+
