[Request] Zoom Features

I had written a script a while back for T2. I then ported it over to the STG project. I REALLY liked the functionality of my script. It was called "SimpleZoom".

I was wondering if I could get one of the devs to check out my script and consider its functionality for T:V. I would list out all it does in this thread but would rather just hand it off to one of the dev's and have them fire up T2 so they can have a better look at it.

The only thing missing from it in my T2 version was making the zoom button "sticky".

I like that the mouse wheel cycles weapons. However, when zoomed, I would like it if the mouse wheel cycled zoom levels. Anyway to do this in T:V?

That was a functionality of my script. When you weren't zoomed, you used the mouse-wheel for whatever you wanted, when zoomed, it adjusted your zoom level. Mouse wheel forward zoomed in, mouse wheel back zoomed out.

I have a similar script for T1, it does a variety of suff and it's standalone. Some of its features would be very nice to have even as a tiny .ini setting somewhere.

Some of the more noteable functions of my script were:

1. You could define how many zoom levels you wanted (1-20).
2. You were able to set what zoom magnification each zoom level had.
3. You could set which level you wanted to revert to upon zoom end (as in you're no longer zoomed in ). This was/is a huge deal to me and others.
4. You were able to use the mouse wheel for other things when not zoomed in. When zoomed in the mouse wheel would zoom in or out depending on which way you moved the wheel.
5. You had the option of making the zoom "sticky".

There are prolly some more that I just don't remember. It's been a while since I've played T2 or looked at my code for that matter.

1, 2,3, and 5 can be done currently by editing user.ini.

It's also possible to bind a key to zoom out.
