I love Skiing!! It's such a "true" effect. So real and awesome!! Way better than T1/T2.

The feature I most admire about the Tribes: Vengeance beta is that it is going to go open in 3 days. :D

If you're being serious (It's difficult to tell on these forums) I agree. Skiing and Jetting is way better than it was in Tribes 2.

I'm serious.. Jumped in T2 the other night.. armor was hopping all over, bouncing off the ground all the time. Very fake.

T:V hits the ski physics on the head. It meshes everything together, makes it seamless and real. It really is SPOT on. I love it!

I agree that skiing is more realistic now. I still havent gotten the hang of the fact that you can't really alter your direction once you start to ski like you could in T1/T2 though. This will require much more perfection in route planning in order to not ski off the mark. I am sure I will adjust but at the moment I don't find it as "fun" as being able to direct your momentum somewhat like in the previous incarnations.

But hey I will get used to it....for I must...its Tribes and there is no where else for me to go. :p

The usefulness of the weapons.

Last night I was body blocking with the buckler and chopping people up.

Nading people, discing..

Taking vehicles AND people out with the Rocket Pod (really starting to like this weapon).

Burnin'/nadin cappers.

Felt like every weapon I used was effective, and I love it. No longer tied to the disc/chain/nade of Tribes past.

One thing I haven't got the feel for, are the packs. I generally dont' even use them. But that's one more thing I get to start "learning" and getting good with.

The game's got depth. T:V Rocks!! (Cept for the inv crashes/laghack stops, which will be fixed.)

You must have kept it at the suggestion level because I currently find T1's bug better than T:V's implementation.

Yes, the game's got depth. All I can think of is that the IG guys are so much better at what they do than their predecessors... call me a brown noser, whatever, but this game plays so damn good, I'm actually excited about it... I mean it plays at least 4x better with more solid bang in beta form than T2 ever did.

To say I'm relieved is an understatement... I love Tribes! IG did the franchise a huge service, IMO.

I love the fast weapon switching, I love the active/passive modes of packs, I love the repair turret, the new method of base repair, I love the ambience: the feel of environment conveyed by the terrain, the sounds, everything... I'm already stuffing spare change in a box for when T:V hits the shelves.

P.S. The skiing is way more realistic, just mo better. :bigthumb:

T2: Yes. (not exactly reknowned for its skiing physics, mind you)
T1: Not in a million years.

While I'm sure a lot of work has been put into the current Skiing model, it doesn't feel as "natural" as it would in other games.
It simply feels like it's coded somewhat like if (skiing) { friction=0; } is. As anyone who's messed with friction variables to any extent in other games can affirm.
