You must have kept it at the suggestion level because I currently find T1's bug better than T:V's implementation.

[love] the love t:v <feature> threadexperimental 09-01-2004, 01:09 PM You must have kept it at the suggestion level because I currently find T1's bug better than T:V's implementation. zing! poisonspider 09-01-2004, 02:30 PM its not nerisarly the skiing but the lack of control for one, in tribes vengeance it sorta sticks you to the ground a bit if on a smooth curve or flat terrain. in tribes since you were always jumping you could use ur jets to move around slightly. plus the jets had alot more horizontal power. but none of this is near as prestent in tribes vengeance what do you think experimental? KillerONE 09-01-2004, 02:35 PM Well, skiing is the way it is, because it's based on some real physics. IMO, the adjustment is needed by the players, not the game. I played late in the game T1 and through ALL of T2's iterations until T:V Beta. T:V has by far a more skill-based and FUN skiing mechanic than previous titles. IMO. IMO. :) poisonspider 09-01-2004, 02:45 PM ""the adjustment is needed by the players, not the game."" what the hell does that mean, KillerONE 09-01-2004, 02:48 PM Means, skiing is not like T1/T2, so stop trying to ski like T1/T2. sunny:) 09-01-2004, 03:20 PM Means, skiing is not like T1/T2, so stop trying to ski like T1/T2. Unfortunately this is a beta-test period and people are going to give their opinions on certain aspects of the game and compare it to T1 or T2. If you cannot handle that then I suggest you find a new forum. Cosmetically, T:V has attractive skiing (GOOD JOB EXPERIMENTAL), yay for it. Again, unfortunately, we aren't skiing for the animations or the effect that it creates, we're skiing for speed and mobility. T1:[X]SPEED, [X]MOBILITY. T2:[X]SPEED, [X]MOBILITY. TV:[X]SPEED, [ ]MOBILITY. That should help you understand, you're a visual learner right? edit: I am fine with the current implementation, I can live with it, but that doesn't mean there's no room for improvement. KillerONE 09-01-2004, 03:24 PM Where am I rejecting opinions? This isn't a discuss ski thread, it's a "I love 'feature' thread.". It's not about understanding, it's about preference. I like the skiing. You don't. K nofix? mc-fine 09-01-2004, 03:31 PM Blood Eagle models look so damn good. And everything else CelticLegend said... sunny:) 09-01-2004, 03:32 PM Where am I rejecting opinions? This isn't a discuss ski thread, it's a "I love 'feature' thread.". It's not about understanding, it's about preference. I like the skiing. You don't. K nofix? You're not telling people to live with the current implementation and move on? That's not you? Your retarded brother must be posting again. I do like the skiing, that doesn't mean there's no room for improvements. How many times do I have to say that for you to understand it? Maybe you should try brushing away those dingle-berries and unclog that poor mans ass. KillerONE 09-01-2004, 03:34 PM Keep up with the personal attacks, it makes you look witty and wise. Thrax Panda 09-01-2004, 04:14 PM The feature I most admire about the Tribes: Vengeance beta is that it is going to go open in 3 days. :DBe even better if it was true. I think the FP thing goes for two weeks. KillerONE 09-01-2004, 04:16 PM Uh Oh. Uproar imminent. :o Colosus 09-01-2004, 04:21 PM Be even better if it was true. I think the FP thing goes for two weeks. It is going to be a FilePlanet exclusive for a week so you're going to have to get over it. http://www.tribalwar.com/forums/showthread.php?postid=667 8832#post6678832 Thrax Panda 09-01-2004, 04:31 PM What do I know. "That's not my bag, baby!" Thrax Panda 09-01-2004, 04:32 PM I also found out that the blaster doesn't shoot thru the buckler like I thought, but the burner does. Nobody talks to me any more :mecry: KillerONE 09-01-2004, 04:43 PM Try one of those 900 numbers, they ALWAYS talk to people. :) [4M]Kenny 09-01-2004, 04:47 PM I love the Sniper Rifle... imagine that :D sard 09-01-2004, 05:56 PM I also found out that the blaster doesn't shoot thru the buckler like I thought, but the burner does. Nobody talks to me any more :mecry: I hope these nuances will be in the manual. Or has it gone to print already with less info in it than the BF:Vietnam one :roller: IrritAnt 09-01-2004, 06:11 PM Well technically the burner doesn't penetrate the buckler. The burner's projectile does two types of damage, from the projectile impact and then from the flamey-flamey oh-god-I'm-on-fire effect. The buckler blocks the first but the projectile bursts on impact, so the target is still immolated. Get it? ;) SaintDude 09-01-2004, 06:20 PM I'm getting used to skiing more now and while I find it decent I can't get over the fact that I can't turn my body to adjust my movement like in t1\t2. The straight line ice skating thing is annoying. Was there a reason behind this change or just a whim? :( edit: also not digging the loss of speed while moving uphill either. | ||
