And whats with the HOMEWORLD SWIRLY THINGIES on all the projectiles, i feel like i'm using the needler gun from halo combat evolved. Its just annoying to see cute little ribbons.
The scale is off by the way... Tribes2 even had the right game scale, i feel clusterphobic on the maps in the beta and damn couldn't ya made the terrain prettier?
My machine kicks the crap outta ur beta a high frame rate and everything up, Tribes2 looks better at this point.
I did like the skiing though guys gotta hand it to ya on that, i jumped rightin game and started ma'ing peeps which was to damn easy since the discs are huge and so are those players..but the trail is massive!!
is it really neccessary? can we have sliders to turn on and off all the weak stuff, like mabe instead of flyers we can have HOTDOGS or meatballs, i mean you could prolly skin a meatball onto it since the flyer is round anyways.
And the tank (note to self after you get fired...never come up with concept of a tank that jumps AGAIN)
other than that the games looking good :)

I disagree, that fighter is a great tool, and hard to take out at range with anything other then the rocket pod, chaingun or another fighter....

MurMur 08-30-2004, 08:16 PM I agree, Tribes 2 had the vehicles down perfect. Sure some of them were overpowered at times, but they felt so right in game. I really miss the transport, and the tank from T2, but Tribes V is still fun just less team work oriented. It just seemed like the vehicles in T2 brought the teamwork out in games.

Yea being able to get on the highest cliff and spam a flag(or anything else for that matter) seems kinda off to me as well

I agree with everything you said, I was just messing around. I do find the jetting and sliding mechanic to be hilarious and sometimes just really cool.
It's unique at least, and make the thing pretty damn fast when you need it to be.
But yes, the gun is a bit powerful, and it takes a very lot to destroy them, and it's not like the rover, where you can shoot the driver out.

this tank is already nerfed. the beta tank projectile was better then the laser rifle. you could MA people at range with that effer. ;)

im sure they did tone it down, but getting constantly spammed from very far away by a projectile that takes off almost all life, and shoots perfectly straight is frustrating

90% of the time I get into a duel with one of the fighters, I always end up MAing it... it's easier to MA a fighter than rocket pod it.

Granted this is only with a few days of beta time under my belt but the vehicles are being taken out too easily by players either MAing them or hitting them with (*gasp*) the blastershotgun which takes them out quickly. The tank isnt much longer lived either in the games I have seen it on. I shall reserve final judgement when I have seen them in action a bunch more but thats my 2 cents worth at this point.

I agree with you on the tank and in scale of the game.
the maps are SMALL and the feel of the game is like ut2k4 or quake3. the models just feel larger then with tribes 1 or tribes 2.
It would be cool to see a map like Scarabrae be worked in as a default map. we need large scale maps and large buildings to defend. Not effin watch towers :?
can we make vehicles as useful as they were in t1? :P only thing i'd like to see stay is the mobile spawn vehicle. :D
