BUGS
-
*can't ESC/quit/cancel at the load map screen. sometimes I may click on a server on accident......

*very odd grapple bug I experienced with pip, and we tried to duplicate but just couldn't figure it out since we were goofing around in the first place. he was in rover, I was grappling the rover (or trying to. I can't remember exactly if i was grappled when all this happen), he got in turret and started shooting me and it blew me up WAY in the sky and he continued to push me back.. then I came back down, and he ejected out of the rover and it threw us both back a ways.. then he was STUCK to me, as if he was grappled onto me.. but it wouldn't break. . I'd fly around and he'd whip all around me -- it wasn't anything like when two players grapple eachother.. he was actually stuck to me and just being thrown all around me, there were no grapple lines visible..

*getting stuck in the ground/air when you spawn at rover.. I bet this has been covered already.. but pip says his system crashes 70% of the time when he spawns at rover (has to reboot) .. I just get stuck
^*one of the times I was stuck I kept pressing USE on rover to enter inventory, and then clicking the "accept" button.. and pressing these two things as fast as I could all crazy like, in hopes to get 'free', and once I was free.. I had TWO energyblades.. one in the default spot, one in one of my weapon spots.. and no other weapons. when I went back into inventory it showed an energyblade as one of my selected weapons.

*there's an annoying lag/freezeup when you setup your keys.. I'll click to change a keybind, press the key and it just sits there like my system is frozen, then goes through.
^*lag when doing other various things in the menu system, such as when you click 'info' on server. sure, I expect it get the info and take a sec, but the hardlock/freeze is annoying. some of the tabs kind of freeze like this too.

*rejected by server after I "get in" .. it feels it's as if someone got in just before me and so it rejects me. this is different than the 'max capacity' rejection.. would be nice if the client/server communication was better and it would decide whether to reject all the connecting hosts before they start the load process and give the max capacity error instead.
^*GUI "click" and "mouseover" sounds stop after you get the 'rejected from server' thing as mentioned above. you can get these sounds back by going into the server info screen and joining a server that way. they may also come back through simply joining, but I didn't try that.

*cavern, other maps?:: wierd invisible walls, or self clipping bugs, that cause me to shoot myself with the disc launcher, or make my mortars bounce in a completely unexpected direction :) this kept happening to me specifically in the generator "tunnel" on the cavern map, blood eagle side. maybe it's a map thing or not, but it seems like a character clipping bug.. I was hiding at the bottom of the tunnel waiting for spawns and decided to disc an enemy on the stand -- when I shot myself! I noticed my arm was not extended like it normally was, ready to shoot.. but there is really no reason for me to shoot myself here, I can clearly see him, have a clear line of fire, etc...

*knockback+jerkyness. getting hit by a disc and you are 'jerked' around.. even after the initial shock. this doesn't have to be in the air, it happens to me all the time on the ground, which is a lot more annoying :x I'll get hit by a disc, and try to retaliate/aim but I am kind of being pushed or jerked around, it's not fluid at all. i jerk/warp to one spot, then jerk/warp to the next. . hope this makes sense

Feedback!

*zooming.. since we can't have scripts, it would be nice if you could make something similar to ZoomControl. allow us to set default zoom levels for each weapon, and whether or not the zoom level resets each time we zoom in for each weapon. allow T1/T2 style zooming, where we can set the zoom level before we zoom in. also, in T2, I enjoyed being able to zoom in and checking out my guy while waiting for prematch countdown -- this is quite nitpicky, sorry :p so basically, allow third-person zooming plz <3

*inventory system. luckily for me I had read about it in TT long before I played the game. Pip however, was confused as hell. and although he isn't a tribes newbie, he hasn't kept up on T:V. it took him a while to figure out you had to HOLD DOWN the keys. so, if you want to make it easy on players.. you should rethink the inventory system a tad. T2 had it quite perfect. it would be nice to be able to setup loadouts without being at a station. basically, I guess I would suggest stealing T2's whole system :p with the exception of perhaps making you have to press a key to get your loadout (like it currently is), and that key being the current chat key works fine. so.. numpad-enter to setup loadout(s), numpad# or shift-numpad# for loadouts, step on pad, press V, and you're on your way.

*chat system. sucks :\ VCCCCA (actual chat!) and having to hold down they key..jeeeez, I can't believe you want a newbie friendly game and you have it act like this.. it was sooo easy and intuitive in t1/t2, and now it's just a pain in the ass.. try doing a chat while you're on a SKI route, or taunting after you kill someone.. any time you want to chat, you're taken out of the game while you press all these keys in succession.. also, consider using the #keys to decrease the depth of the chats (vg1 for example)

*grapple release key.. I grapple, switch to disc, fire and WANT to release but I'm waiting on reload.. and if i do have time, having to switch back to grapple, fire, then back to disc...:( especially if I'm in some kind of combat situation (which is pretty much always), and want to continue firing as much as possible.. there are already enough things going on in combat, it would simply be muchhhh easier if there were a grapple release key. in fact, you could make it so that if you switch to grapple, it automatically releases (but doesn't actaully switch to grapple).. so: you are in combat, have out your DL, grappled to something and jetting or doing whatever kind of manuever, shoot him, decide it's time to release, switch to grapple (which releases grapple and you still have DL selected), continue fighting -- shoot another disc, or decide you are safe to grapple to something else so you press the grapple key again.. well, it's a thought anyway, maybe a separate key would be simpler :)

*the different binds for skiing is confusing. is one actually better than the other? are there speed differences in how you ski, in my testing I couldn't find any. why not just remove jump/ski and jump altogether. or is it actually possible to ski with jump? :p can you set the bind to repeat jump super fast like the original tribes and actually ski up a hill maybe? or maybe it's for single player.. as I saw young julia without a jetpack? ;o

*holding down grenade for a long time and it simply goes away -- please change this :x sometimes I want to keep the grenade at max throw for a long time, especially if I'm expecting to come up on a dueler.. or in my personaly scenario, when I'm camping the gens and waiting for someone to come pay me a visit. also, please consider adding a Max Throw Grenade option, or even a slider bar for a default length you want to throw it. this was a favorite feature of classic in T2, and I used a similar script in T1, as do a lot of people I'm sure..

*throw flag bind instead of having to select it -- and perhaps a slider bar like for grenade I mentioned above. I've never, ever wanted to simply drop or barely toss the flag.. even if I'm passing off to someone infront of me, I'd want to throw it right to him.

*overhaul voting/admin stuff. Tabhud? <3

*speaking of tabhud: rebindable console key :P that's driving me crazy! and can we get a free look? It's useful for keeping aware while I ski. my suggestion: holding down the third person key switches you to third person, puts you in a free look mode, and when you release the key you go back to first person. if you simply tap it, you go into third person like it is currently. using this key while in a vehicle will allow you to free look around.

*screenshots requiring renderdetail 3. this messes up my custom settings :\

*disc knockback and damage. this goes along with the jerkyness bug above. maybe this is more of a whine, but sometimes I'll just get instablicked (die instantly) with full health and I really have no idea what the hell just happened to me (I'm a HO).. in fact this may be a combination of the jerkyness plus the invisible walls (maybe I'm shooting myself some of these times and not knowing it). I have no problem with getting owned, but I've never quite had this experience in t1 or t2, and it's happening allll the time. maybe discs do too much damage to HO? or maybe it's just that it's so easy to get direct hits in T:V.. but anyway, it's akin to getting shocklanced in the back.. very annoying, very frustrating

*I love the hints :) although I'd like to add: add one about player positions. maybe you cover this in singleplayer? I'm getting a lot of complaints from noobs about base raping. I tell them to HD, they ask what HD is. so maybe something on the line of describing this as a team game, and to help out the team, try to fill positions that are left void (HD, LD, whatever..)
