I was a huge fan/player of T and T2. I thought both games were done very well and they both had an awesome feel to them. TV on the other hand is simply a huge POS in my opinion.

TV is basically UT2004 with a jet pack. The game looks like crap and feels to arcade like. Tribes 2 looked MUCH better. I was really stoked about playing TV but way to much has changed and not for the better.

Pros
1) None that I can really see

Cons
1) The netcode is super bad
2) Getting hung up and stuck all the time
3) Having a SKI key and not using the old method
4) The drastic change in the way load outs are done
5) The new vehicles (horrible)
6) Graphics
7) Overall feel
8) Animations/Taunts are lame
9) I miss the small spiderclamp turrets
10) Miss all the smaller deployables

Anyway, I'm taking TV off my system now, not that anyone here will agree but this is the worst game in the T series. I'd rather play T and T2...... so see ya...... *waves*

What was your in-game name in T1 and T2? Just for shazbots and giggles.

Rebuttal to your Cons

1) where are you playing? I've seen a hell of alot worse netcode before.I'm hitting multiple MAs... Disc, Buckler, and Burner.
2) Issa Beta. Bug ahoy.
3) You can set it up to mimic the T2 way (Where space jumps and ski's and whatever else jets (or even jumps and jets...)
4) Live with it, I've found that using the Shift:WASD is just as fast, if not faster, than T2's interface.

The rest are personal opinion only...

Cya later then. Contrary to popular belief this game isn't called T1/2: Vengeance. Its supposed to be different.

1) The netcode is super bad

It's not bad, and it's being worked on. Underpowered servers have been a bigger problem than netcode, IMO.

2) Getting hung up and stuck all the time

This is a known issue with the speed-hack anti-cheat, and is already disabled on many server to work around the issue until it's fixed

3) Having a SKI key and not using the old method

Hmm, hold down a SKI key, or hold down a JUMP key. I fail to see a difference.

4) The drastic change in the way load outs are done

T1: Step up to inv, press favorite key
T2: Press favorite key, step on pad
TV: Step on pad, press favorite key
DRASTIC!

5) The new vehicles (horrible)

Apart from aesthetics, I think they're a nice median between the uselessness of T1, and the domination of T2

6) Graphics

7) Overall feel

This took me a while to adjust to as well

8) Animations/Taunts are lame

I honestly haven't seen all the animations yet, but the taunts are at least as good as the previous games.

As a 5+ year T1 god, i would just like to say that T2 sucked from the get go, and T:V seems to be no different.

Well like I said opinions vary and I still think it sucks. Tribes 2 (once all pacthes were final) was WAY better than TV anyday. Any serious players who were the master of the AD, etc will prob agree. Your telling me you all like this better than T2 ?? No way

This game was better and more finished 6 months ago than T2 was at release.

I can garuntee I am A LOT better at Tribes 2 than you are and my opinion is completely different than yours.

I am in effing LOVE with Vengeance. Last night I played in what seemed like a flash of two hours, dreaming of competition strategies, playing teams like IE, 5150, =s3=. I experimented with the new weapons, and yes, I did notice there were some hang-up/lag issues with this open BETA TESTING. However, did I crash once (like I still do in T2)? No.

As the night went on I noticed the player count just kept increasing. It was up to 644 players, the first couple of hours of a pay-to-play beta test released on a friday night. And I was refreshing servers and seeing players on like KinteticPoet (how was that, being harrased all night ;]? ), liquidh2o, Aestis. It feels like the community is being reborn, and we may have another ladder with 100+ active teams and a competitive top 20.

Tell me that isn't exciting as all hell?

In T2 all you have to do is press 1 key once and you'll always suit up with that loadout. Now in TV you have to hold 1 key and press another for every spawn in 05.

After playing Tribes, then Tribes 2 for a long time, then playing UT2004 for awhile and quit because it wasn't all that great.. Now playing Tribes Vengance.. Yeah, I'd have to say it's pretty much UT2004 with jetpacks.

I knew it'd be like this since they announced that Tribes Vengance would use the UT2004 engine. The vehicles drive and feel like vehicles from UT2004 onslaught, meh it's just too lame.

Meh, one less game I'm looking forward to I guess.

What is this "AD" you claim to have mastered in T2?

Maybe you just need to get used to it? It's not like you're a vet in T:V just because you were a vet in T1/T2...
