I have been playing Tribes for many many years. I played Tribes 1 for a good 5 years and Tribes 2 for a year. Why for a year? Because Tribes 2 sucks. I would play Tribes 1 over Tribes 2 anyday.

Please remember that T2 "is a different game than T1"... ;-)

He's not the only one. In Poland I don't know T2 players who like the concept of T:V. Many european players don't like it too, but they aren't strong enough to tell this on the forum (you know, not everybody has forum nerds deep in the ass, like me).

IMO what really sucks in T:V is the whole concept of the game - except single player mode (which, I believe, seems to be quite fun). To be quite honest, it was clearly visible just after first released screenshots and after the decision about the engine. Freedom of movement (you know, it's about FEELING - I don't need to go behind OOB, but I want to know that I can do that) has gone, skiing - which is reduced to "1337" "gain speed, grab and cap before first craddle", gameplay designed for extremely small maps, overpowered and useless vehicles which looks like from a different (fairy?) tale, shazbotty trails from UT & RtCW, reduced number of tactical possibilities (due to reduced distance between flags, less number of packs and smaller differences between armours). The style of gameplay is more similar to classical FPS games like UT and Q3A, what is a step in a wrong direction. Awful graphics (good graphics doesnt mean larger and more colorful textures), infantile design of armours and vehicles. Awful vehicle physics. OMG, it even doesn't have an optimized GUI! And shazbotty netcode... Dear devs, I don't believe you can make a POS like UT netcode better, I'm so sorry. It can only stink less, I'm afraid. And no jobs for players in 2nd plane, jobs like cloaker or even satcheler - which are not what I'm dreaming about, but which give noobs a job they can do.

Skiing? What kind of skiing you can make if you can cap in 4 secs? Flag discing? Where? Capper cover? How the hell can I cover my capper if he is able to cap after 4 secs? No CC (rofl), no targeting laser (rofl2), no waypoints on mates (rofl3)...

...just effING SPEED. I tell you in a very simple words: eff off with your stupid SPEED.

In real life I work as a journalist (greetings for my beloved nerd, Da_Timsta). In Poland I'm a co-founder of the oldest computer games magazine on the market (more than 10 years of experience in that job). My personal score for T:V is 5/10 only (-1 point for wasted potential of the tribes series included).

So, basically, single player tribes game will be available soon, and a multiplayer game with jetpacks too. T:V is almost out. It's time to wait for T3.

I'm still waiting for a competant negative review that doesn't seem to be abstract in its meaning.

I hear complaints that may have been legitimate if they hadn't been brought up with no explanation, in a tremendously stupid way.

Hopefully after spending a few weeks downloading the thing on 16.8k (after next week of course) I can test the handling out enough to formulate an opinion.

I bet half of these people have played it for like 2 hours and deemed it bad. Oh well not players I would want around anyways. As for it being UT2k4 with jetpacks, that is the stupidest thing Ive ever heard. The first thing that makes not be UT2K4 is SKIING. Also there is no dodging like in UT2k4, you arent jumping around like a mad man to avoid shots. UT2k4 is a twitch game, plain and simple, if you are playing T:V like a twitch game then you shouldnt be playing tribes.
