TV not my cup of tea........

I really don't know why Irrational even visits these boards, to be honest. There is more whining, complaining, and nitpicking here than I have ever seen anywhere else. Open beta, and a guy is complaining that you have to press a single key every time you enter inventory station. Yes, people might want that addressed, but the whole "I'm not playing because of this" attitude is ridiculous.

Maybe you just need to get used to it? It's not like you're a vet in T:V just because you were a vet in T1/T2...

I played it for 5 hours last night. I got the fastest ski times, most kills, I capped the flag the most, etc..... so I pretty much got use to it. I still think it sucks..... it's simply not as fun as T or T2.

It was cool learning to play again, and I can't wait to see the competition, the shoutcasts, the demos, the ladders....I am looking forward to some ggs.

Ummm he didn't say he wasn't playing because of one key. I said I didn't want to play because T2 was more fun to me so I will stick with that. Plus I listed a variety of things I hated with TV. To me it feels more like a UT2004 mod than a full commercial game. Sure it's just my opinion but that's why we have forums.

The game Doesn't "suck" suck, they just completely kiled the concept and originality of the game to get a quick product out on the market by using a premade engine and now it feels like another game..

Consumer whores will enjoy it, but not I.

Well like I said opinions vary and I still think it sucks. Tribes 2 (once all pacthes were final) was WAY better than TV anyday

First off, how on earth did they kill the concept and originality? There's skiing, there's jetpacks, there's massive outdoor combat. What is this 'originality' that you think got killed?

Secondly, it's far from a pre-made engine, they updated, optimized and even completely replaced parts of it. It's UT engine only to the same extent as a bioderm is human.

It's a different game. Give it more time than a few hours on the first day of beta.


As for the engine. Its based on UT2k3 and the vehicle physics and such are havok and the movement is custom. This wasn't a quick game rushed to the consumer whores, but the marketing does look to be pushed to them, and I don't like it. (mad julia, weapon that doesnt exist on box, stupid stuff to get action players interested like chaos and retribution in the e3 2004 trailer.)

I have been playing Tribes for many many years. I played Tribes 1 for a good 5 years and Tribes 2 for a year. Why for a year? Because Tribes 2 sucks. I would play Tribes 1 over Tribes 2 anyday.

Then I tried to play UT2004. It was fun at first, but gets boring.

Now I'm playing T:V. Let me tell you that T:V is a whole different cup of tea and I enjoy playing it.

If you say T:V is like UT2004 with jetpacks, you are badly wrong. The people that dislike this game, always uses "its like UT2004 with jetpacks" in their discussion.

I love how people join the forums just to give their opinions on a couple hours of game time in a beta :)

please preface all negative comments about t:v beta with the obligatory "I play/love T2" so we know to read no further in your post... thanks.

totally agree with you my friend, TV is too dumbed down. Don't expect too many intelligent replies here though. Bring your feedback to the official TV forums at Sierra, where moderators willl weed out the smacktards. Posting negative reviews about TV in here is a waste of time.
