Again, I know NTFS is the highly supreme file system compared to FAT32. It's support for ACL's and its transparent compression mechanisms etc should usually make it first choice, yes.

Reason I am using it: I am running a dual-OS system with Linux and Win2k. And it happens that neither Windows Support for ext2fs/reiserfs is adequate, nor Linux NTFS2000 support. So, the greatest common divisor between both is FAT32 for me. ;)

I didn't mean to imply that you implied that NTFS sucks. I meant that Vengeance works fine on NTFS drives so that's not the problem.

don't worry about NTFS stuff, it has nothing to do with it, ignore it.

how exactly did you reformat?

Do this: right click on My Computer > Manage > Local Users and Groups > Users

what accounts are listed? which one are you using? Right click on the account that you're using and go to Properties, make sure you're a member of administrators group.

Yup says right here "Computer Administrator"

Didn't take it that way, no worries ;) Was just trying to say: If it doesn't work with the one on your machine (if the ghost in the machine likes to play tricks on you), then maybe just try the other (if you HAVE a FAT partition, that is... which is doubtful for modern machines....)

this error is triggered by the game attempting to write a file to the drive, and the write failing. are you able to manually create, edit and save files in the beta\program\bin directory?
