LTB: 15" Monitor

i'm building a system for gaming and i need the absolute cheapest monitor i can get. anyone have one sitting around that they don't mind giving up for cheap?

yes, but they cost more to ship than you would want to pay for one. I highly reccomend you find one locally. Try checking office depot, office max, and staples for cheap (under 100 bucks) 17" monitors. I see them all the time. You can even find 19" CRTs for under 150 frequently.

I got 2 sitting around, I'll sell you one for 20 bucks + shipping.

find out how much shipping is.. i'll compare the total cost to what i can find locally and let you know.

I got a 19" monitor here in NOVA i can give you for $100 if you want it, its a Viewsonic g90f or a Samsung Syncmaster 955mB you can choose.

the cheapest i found at best buy was a $100 17" crt. they don't make 15" crt's anymore. :(

so mystic reaper i may take you up on that offer. if you could somehow calculate the shipping (at least figure out the weight and let me know), i'd appreciate it.

Dont you have any local computer repair shops? They would usually have old monitors for cheap. You're really wasting your money buying one and paying shipping.

like i said, no local computer shops have 15" crt's sitting around, and the cheapest 17" i can get are like $100.

shipping shouldn't be more than $30. i've had an 80 lb guitar amp shipped for $50, and a 15" crt shouldn't weigh more than 25-30 lbs.

i just did a rate quote on fedex.com and a 30 lb package that is 20x20x20 is less than $20 (it quoted $10 but it varies based on how far it's being shipped).

so if mystic_reaper is selling his for $20 + shipping, i'll pay less than $50. sounds like a fine deal to me.

office max has some 17" crt's for $90. but i really want something compact, this is for my dorm room.. and i'm already used to the 14" display on my laptop.

actually since i'm on such a tight budget i may just sell the 256mb version i'm getting and get a 128mb version for like $100 cheaper.

go to a trading post or pawn shop

we don't have any of those around here. and i don't feel like wasting my time driving around looking for a monitor when i can get one shipped to my door for $50 or cheaper.
