Went shopping for TV tuner cards today and after hearing several ppl here say the Haupage wintv pvr 250 is the best i picked it up and looked at it. It only had coax and video in, meaning I'd have to get the sound out of my sound card. My soundcard only has the little bitty headphone size plugs though, so how would i go about doing that?

sound goes into tv card from coax through motherboard to soundcard to speakers?

I'm kind of assuming since it's only composite input is video in that coax wont give sound either

so the coax that runs into the back of your tv from your cable provider provides no sound?

since the only other input was a composite VIDEO in (the yellow one) and it didnt have the composite audio (the red and white) i assumed that the card wouldnt process sound from the coax either.

i know coax carries sound, but will the card handle that or will i have to find some obscure adapter to get sound through my sound card?

the card should handle that.

The card *does* handle the sound.
It works handles it via the sound card you have configured for use in windows.
Because encodes it to mpeg (digital format) as it comes in, you don't need to run any audio cables to your sound cards line in like in the old days.
