[REQUEST] Make Rover Deployable UnderwaterOutlaw. 08-18-2004, 05:44 PM Make the rover deployable underwater for some nice tactical, espionage action! :deal: Sir Lucius 08-18-2004, 05:45 PM You don't really "deploy" it, and last I checked you could spawn/suit up underwater just fine. Outlaw. 08-18-2004, 05:46 PM hmmm, i thought the rover slowly took damage underwater? Amadeus 08-18-2004, 05:46 PM You don't really "deploy" it, and last I checked you could spawn/suit up underwater just fine. Yeah, but it blows up after a few secs, no? Tajora 08-18-2004, 05:51 PM Rover looses life while underwater till it dies. I guess the alternator takes 1 minute to get completly wet so the engine fails. Outlaw. 08-18-2004, 05:58 PM I'll rephrase... make the rover not take damage underwater. I say "deploy" because I think of an MPB. Bridude 08-18-2004, 06:00 PM I put an inventor under water. what a pain in the ass trying to stay under water and use the inv at the same time. IrritAnt 08-18-2004, 06:16 PM Hmm, it's an important balancing issue that the rover takes damage underwater (it only takes damage if 50% of it is submerged, BTW). It's like that exactly to stop people deploying it underwater in a stealthy fashion :) Also the rover tends to float and get stuck. Sopo 08-18-2004, 06:18 PM Twould be cool if the jets worked while floating.. If u hit the water at high speed, you are able to skim across it untill your speed slows down? yayay l33t idea! hfingers 08-19-2004, 07:31 AM I put an inventor under water. what a pain in the ass trying to stay under water and use the inv at the same time. This does sound like a pain in the ass. Does anyone see a problem with this in comp play? Antares Reign 08-19-2004, 07:40 AM :withstupi Its supposed to be hard to do that, they don't really seem to want water to be a huge stealth advantage. FIREARMS 08-19-2004, 09:04 AM Hmm that could be stealthy but I not sure it would be good idea, and I to can see all the bugs that could come of that... like somhow it becomes invincable underwater instead of just not taking damage form the water. Antares Reign 08-19-2004, 09:09 AM Maybe, but the issue is not that, having players spawn underwater and out of sight close to an enemy base is just not a strategy they want available. Edit was grammatical Phantom 08-19-2004, 09:26 AM Would placing a repair turret near the rover compensate for the damage? (Just throwing ideas in the air) | ||
