is it possible to change the client port when you play tribes? i want to see if i can play at work, but i can only go through port 8080

thats a good question. I think the port is assigned by the server. How its assigned no idea. Dont know of any command that sets your own port. Sorry

Don't think this will work, but try setting $server::port in serverprefs.cs as 8080

youŽll probably need an external server that reroutes your up- and downstream on the actuall port outside the office.
8080---->8080 (external server) ---> $actual::port (external server) ----> Server ($actual::port )

and the same the other way arround.
idk, i m not the guy to ask but something like this should be the solution.

I know one thing you could do probly to costly tho. You could hunt around for the cheapest laptop you could find like a 500mhz and win95 even then just hook it up to the phone line or somthing. Better than nothing.

Sounds to me like you're connecting though a proxy, and you have the inbound and outbound mixed up... The proxy would never let you connect to a game server (usually only inbound ports 25 and 80 are open on access routers).
