[Video Idea] A Vet + Video - Details Inside

I got to thinking after watching the Kayvz TM video that it would be pretty insane to make a video of all the talent here on TW.

The idea is that we would submit diffrent demo's of us doing some pretty wicked stuff to one person who would sift through it finding the best of the best and make a 6-10 minute video that is well done, and makes people want to play tribes 2 (classic). The idea could also be done with T1, but I my self now suck at T1 after years of not playing it. :) Maybe it could be both, a little T1, and then a little T2.

One rule would be that you would have to atleast be a vet 1 or higher. This would just be so the person going through all the demo's didn't get tons of demo's of newb doing weak moves, thinking they are good.


Let me know if there is some support for this idea. I think we could get some sick stuff in the video. ;)

The reason why I say this, not being a vet is mainly because I am an honorary vet 3, since I have been here since T1, minus a 6 month break (56k) at which point I became a reader only for a year, and made a new account when I got back. So I have been here all that time and i have have experiance, and I am sure there are pleanty of other sob stories out there, but making exceptions for everyone is too hard, and I'm the idea man.. . . so yeah. :)

I agree .. . . However you are not going to get a noob from a vet for sure, where as with a member, you never know what your going to get. If someone actually takes this huge project upon them selfs, they could decide, as I wouldn't really care either way.

Yeah it is a lot of work, but it would be worth it. If I had the programs needed, or someone can get me those programs, I would gladly spend a few hours a night working on it.

There have been lots of best of the best type movies for T1 and a bunch of T2 movies with clips of some of the best players. Search for perro's BOTB1/2 and maybe 3, can't remember. For T2 you want to look for Pure 1/2 or Decendents. There are tons of highlight vids with multiple players.

I always wanted to see a tribute movie made for T1 and T2, with clips of both. Use the same maps, SH, DX, RC and show the same type sequence for both. You would see a T1 capper go mach4 through the DX base grab the flag, then it would show the same thing for T2. Show someone doing Nats route on SH, then same thing with T2.

The movie would be something everyone would enjoy and reunite the community for T:V :D

Hey Starwind - Your gay .. . . but besides that, here is my reasoning. If someone is a vet 3 or 4 .. . they were clearly here for T1. We know this, where as a member, we don't know this. They could have been here since T1, but then again they could be a newb. Again, I don't care, but thats something the person collecting the videos would have to decide.

I've been playing the Tribes series steadily since Tribes 1 demo came out. Someone give me a vet4 title plz.

Have you been here since then? However I am very sure that there are members who are very good and have been playing T1, but there are also a lot of members who have only been playing for a little while. Again for a third or fourth time, I honestly don't care who would be submitting videos, but I am sure the person who has to go through all of them might care. Thats all I am saying.
