Minor T:V input

This is definately a quibble, but possibly more. Since we're dealing with a new game, why stick to old things? The sound when you cause damage makes a certain "dink" sound in a certain pitch. Why not change the pitch when damaging friendlys to a much lower pitched "dink" sound. Could come in handy when looking around corners or trying to develop your aim. Definatly not a big deal, just an idea.

It isn't the same as t2 atleast from what I remember. And it is easier to distinguish a higher pitched sound when a lot is going on.

In "classic" mod, they put in the "dink" sound. It's in the beta, so let's make it better with more information.

T:V is rocking so far. So much so, that this is all I have to offer. Not much to bitch about cept known bugs.

It's more of a 'donk' sound in Classic Mod. I liked that sound. It sounded like bending armor :D

Ok, "donk", whichever. Maybe it was more of a "donk?"

Yes, I know, you shouldn't shoot friendlys.

I think it's actually a pretty good idea to have separate hitsounds for friendlies and enemies.

Having a message in the chathud informing you that you've hurt a teammate is not always enough, as you somethimes forget to look at it. Having this information relayed through sound would be rather convenient.

It's originally from Tribes1 Fstat MOD scripted by Freaky, called HitEvent :p
In the end it was removed from Tournament Mode because you could do some minor "abusing" with it (Mortaring SB flagroom and instantly knowing is there HoF inside or not and so forth).

Good that they included it.

Yeah great sound, wouldn't wanna play without hitsound ever again. Chainwh0ring up close with 'donk' = music in my ears.

I like the idea of a team donk and an enemy budonk, but am I the only person who can't really hear the T:V dink? It should be more donkey, and louder.

Actually we're looking at changing the dink to more of a "thrim" and the enemy hit sound to a "schwa". And if you hurt yourself it'll be kind of a "fmuh-grob" type of sound. Trying to fire a weapon with no ammo will produce a "bloum" and landing incorrectly for a ski makes a "drefumergle".

T2 was more of a "Doonk!" for me.

Wow... that should make for interesting kill reports.

"Crusade drefumergle's all over the nice concrete."

Wanna know whats around the corner? Defend the sensor and watch your map hud.

No sensor? Don't shoot until you're sure its not a friend.

I don't like the idea of 2 different sounds from the standpoint that if someone is shooting blindly, they should not receive feedback from the game saying "you're hitting the enemy, killer" or "you're shooting teammates, stupid."

Or take my approach and shoot first and justify later.
