always good to see new enthusiastic coming to tribes :)
It might also help to play some ut2k4 and get some familiarity with how you get the mouse to feel right for you, if you have never played that. Not that aim in ut2k4 is aim in T3, but it is the engine and I suspect how the mouse feels is very different from both T1 and T2.

Thanks for the terms and stuff, I have been gaming a while so I know pubs, pugs and the like. After looking at the link posted by someone above the amount of slang is huge, I'll get a hang of it though.

I have played a bit of ut2k4, enouph to be alright at it. The games I play mostly are Halo and CoD, so this is a big change. Right now Im having the most trouble manuevering and doing my version of "skiing," although I have not witnessed it in person yet, just my sorry attempts at it :D.
One thing I did notice is its hard to find a good server that doesnt have mods or doesnt kick me for not downloading a defence turret(w.e that is).
I appreciate the help guys.

Welcome!
Defense Turret is kinda like the steam program for counter-strike if you're familiar. I'd suggest you pick it up. http://www.triben.de
It's kinda hard to teach someone tribes. IMO, it's all practice an experience. Seek after competition too. That's what the tribes series are all about, again, IMO. Wish you the best of luck!
