Just curious what T:V is (currently) using as the main video mode?

Im hoping its Ogl because it just "looks" ALOT better than Directx IMHO.

Urm... in 90% of the cases, I bet you cannot tell the difference between OpenGL and DirectX. There are even 'mappers' for one to the other. It's just two ways of telling the card what it shall display.
There are slight differences in how far shaders and other things are implemented, but I think DirectX is in the lead slightly. (Not much to my liking, but anyway...)

we've discussed this before. The devs claim its only for Direct3d. But, I have found that there is some support for OpenGL. I'll have to wait till the final release comes out to make sure. BTW, DX looks way better than OpenGL, the only reason why I'd suggest OGL over DX is because people usually get better fps using ogl than on dx.

^ what he said, except that I don't care as long as they keep on pushing each other further to make better options.

I believe it's Directx 9 (for compatible cards), falls back to 8.

OpenGL is at least specifiable in the UT2k4 options, but since they didn't really program for it, it's not preferable.

Also, OGL and DX are 95% can't be compared since developers will either program for one, or the other. So you aren't going to be correct in saying "x is better than y" in this case.

For example, halflife was programmed with OGL in mind, and DX really isn't a good idea. Conversely, UT2k4 should use DX.
