Tribes2 looks better than Tribes Vengence?

Is it just me or does Tribes2 look better than Tribes Vengence? It might be the differences in the engines they are running on but Tribes2 looks much cooler in a lot of ways despite having "inferior" technology powering its graphics. Go take a look at some old Tribes2 pics and compare them to Tribes Vengence shots. Something strange about Tribes Vengence screenshots :D

Btw I think you are disturbed by your monitor being on highest gamma. Turn that down to normal values and see why T:V look better.

both have distinct looks and both look great .. T2 with all it's options and res up to its max was a very pretty looking game .. T:V looks incredible for it's current state ... I look forward to more. lets just hope it's not all eyecandy with no substance (like UT)

/me considers some crack about being able to actually SEE the graphics in Tribes2.

I always loved T2's graphics, but I think T:V has it beat on alot of things.

technology wise... tv has it beat with the detailed things.

but t2 flows nicely... jesus christ at least give it that people.

T2 is a pretty game but it's engine ruins it unfortunately. It is pretty though, no doubt .. but I believe T:V's graphics will be MUCH crisper then t2's ever will be. I'm definitely more impressed by T:V's terrain over T2's. Freaking rocks. And the bases? ;) > t2 by far.

I, unfortunately, won't be there due to moving and other things. I will take you up on that bet once inclusive open beta is released. ;)

T2's graphics might be good, if you could see them. Everything in T2 is waaay to dark and gloomy, T:V is sunny, and gives u a nice environment that doesn't make you feel gloomy.

I'm not joking. Take a look at these random Tribes2 screenshots, (Including the one posted by Sir Lucius) and there are much better looking Tribes2 maps by regular users available around the net.

Now the average shots that we have seen for Tribes Vengence, just don't look good . In fact some of them look quite horrid with blurred textures, and blocky geometry. Take a look at ALL the pics in the beta preview of Tribes Vengence for example. That is how Tribes Vengence will look on your average machine :closet:

I don't know about you but in T2,I'm to buisy trudgeing 4-5 miles(1-3min) dieing,killing,retreiving the flag,respawning trudgeing back across the map to even care about grapics because it took so long to get back at the main goals,mabe T:V is gonna be quicker so you can enjoy the enviorment.( I'll be turnning up most of my settings)
