yubyub 06-10-2004, 12:58 AM I find it discouraging that I will almost certainly not get into the beta after being in this community since I saw the preview article of Tribes 1 in PC Gamer - hell I even remember one of the pictures - a diamond sword sniping someone over a snowy hill. I've been an active member on the forums and ladders. I've scripted and released mappacks in conjunction with other authors. So while I've done all of this for 4+ years, some kid who thought "the game just looked nifty" or heard about it through the grapevine is going to have a closed beta spot and not contribute a damn thing. I'm bitter I suppose :ugh:
I dunno, it just seems wrong--to each his/her own I guess though, right? Good luck all
vawlk 06-10-2004, 01:19 AM Are you kidding?
I rarely have had any UEs, but they are hardly an urban legend. :bigmouth:
I stopped having UEs when I ditched my SB Live

Well, I'm sure there are people form other communities that would feel the same way you do. UT and Quake come to mind. People that have been around since the incarnation of their respective series', I guess it's a natural feeling; but what can you do, at least we get an open beta down the road.
Elantri_X 06-10-2004, 03:59 AM David isnt replying to me.... At least it can tell us what's wrong with it like "Beta Registration over", "Server is busy" etc...
And my computer is FINE, active x fully working, IE up-to-date.... Get a new website coder.

waaa fucking waaa
Your opinion is not necessarily more valid than a guy who just picked up the tribes series. In fact a newer player might add more to the beta process since he will have no expectations or understanding of how the game is going to work . Given the dev team have had plenty of imput from people who know the tribes series back to front already , the area they would be lacking feedback in if anything is from the newer players. This is the first mainstream exposure of the game itself after all.
So dont continue to worry your little "i knew T1 before the beta was out and am the biggest fan ever but just found TW the other day" ass off, just sit back for another 8 weeks or so with everyone else and chill.
SouLNibbleR 06-10-2004, 09:47 AM I have IE, activeX read and inputted my system specs perfectly, and yet I STILL get the damn error. I want my 1% chance of getting into beta god dammit. How hard is it to have a signup page on a website? I've beta tested half a dozen games and never had a problem SIGNING UP for the stupid things.

I dunno, it just seems wrong--to each his/her own I guess though, right? Good luck allBeta is not a "right". There are over half a million T2 owners. Which of them have a "right" to be in beta?

They might not or there might be some kid who thought "the game just looked nifty" & has a non biased view of the game.. not liking it to any other version.

Thrax Panda 06-10-2004, 04:38 PM Do you mind if I call you grandma?
Yankee 06-10-2004, 05:01 PM What is the unable to process your request error about?
Thrax Panda 06-10-2004, 05:02 PM I don't know. Send an email to the name on the error message.
ParoxysM 06-10-2004, 05:25 PM I was in previous Betas + have unique hardware configuration = please let me in beta :)
Silverspirit 06-10-2004, 05:31 PM I've been trying to resister for the past three days and had been getting the error message. I just tried again and got a confimation message, so some of you others might be able to get through. I also used a hotmail e-mail address.
LazarusCrusader 06-11-2004, 09:19 PM WoooooooHooooooooo!!!!!!
Finally got the "Thank you for your submission. You will be contacted shortly".
Now for some serious praying!!!
jinko 06-11-2004, 09:35 PM who are you lazarus.. people like you who jump out of nowhere and start praying to get accepted into a beta over people who have been playing for years should kill themselves.
and this beta registration crap is bullshit. how fucking hard is it to make a simple form without getting some e-mail that even when you try to email him .. i t bounces back. nice job.
CombatWombat 06-11-2004, 09:52 PM Beta is not a "right". There are over half a million T2 owners. Which of them have a "right" to be in beta?
None because they play T2.
LazarusCrusader 06-11-2004, 09:52 PM I agree with the registration bit...since I'm a web app developer....
As for me, I started out with Tribes 1 and actually enjoy Tribes 2 when it isn't broken. I'm also a father of 3 and hence don't have all the time in the world to keep posting in every thread ther is pertaining to Tribes. I'm a decent Pub'er who enjoys the game as a game. It's not my life but is sure is a great stress relief!
