DobermanN 06-07-2004, 04:02 AM Dunno if it was asked before.
Since i've played t1 i've used to practice maps with legit mod ( with beacon teleport and loudaut spawn, flag recall ecc.) because boosts your map learning.
In T2 i missed this and i've requested on this forum if some of uberscripters can do a t2 practic mod ....and got it, thankfully to Lethal_E, the first praccy mod.
I'm wondering if devs has planned some sort of practice feature since scripting in T:V will be restricted.
Quaduce 06-07-2004, 04:35 AM I was thinking something similar to DrinkMOD would be good for T:V aswell. I doubt it will come standard, and someone will eventualy make it anyway.
Flatscan 06-07-2004, 06:41 PM This would be a good thing. I would also love to have a "shooting range" type practice mod for ma's, the buckler, possibly the grappler (?), etc.
dunce_boy 06-07-2004, 06:45 PM scripting will be limited...but moding is most certainly not...
If they havet included it by now (which I havent seen anything about it) they most likely will not do it. But it is something that someone from the community can do.
Arcanox 06-07-2004, 06:54 PM I'd like that too... even though they don't plan to put in bots... Really if they threw in dumbass targets that moved and shot back at you half decent... it's better than aiming at a tree or something.
If they threw in some half baked moving targets in a practice mode thats universal to all types of maps... I really don't have any expectations.
Quaduce 06-07-2004, 10:23 PM Id rather practice shooting players than any form of bot.
I think he ment the practice mod, like drinkmod, where you can basicly practice your routes much faster than having to go to an inv every time.

What was that T1 sniper mod? Duck hunt?
FishStix 06-08-2004, 12:59 AM yeah, in fact, they do have a practice mode. i think its called single player...

Sure...and i'm US president.....
It's clear that you'd never practiced a map.
DobermanN 06-08-2004, 08:18 AM However...if devs do not implement it....you scriptzors feel free to work on it as soon as possible :) (me loves you long time - Cartman- )
Flatscan 06-08-2004, 10:41 AM Practicing with a real person is typically better.
That said, getting somebody willing to go straight up, straight down, off to the side, at an angle, repeatedly for an hour (or few) isn't always easy to do.
A practice mod would be very helpful.

Yeah thats exactly what I'm talking about. I wouldn't want to just fly around and perform basic movement for someone else. So some of the new players should be able to load in moving targets in practice mode that have simplified movement commands.
