Tribes2 failure?

Hallo,

i've bought tribes and tribes 2 - even have a copy of Starsiege around here somewhere o_O...

lost both tribes disk since moving a couple years back. Saw them released for free and ate FilePlanet's email-harvesting scheme to get them and a CD key.

Took me 3 days to get past CD key entry, stating auth servers were down. OK, fine. Tonight, trying on a whim at 4 AM, it worked!

Except i can't join a single game. "REJECTED: Authentication Failure, please restart Tribes 2 and try again."

5 times doing that and here i am :P. I see a lot of talk of the servers being moved... in april and may. Supposedly they are back up.

Yes, my router has all the fun ports opened.

I notice now on the game lists only bots seem to be playing.

What is going on???

wtg to release a 'free game' no one can play and harvest my marketing info while doing it. i shall make quite certain to never buy a sierra game again if they decide to become another EA, and i buy a lot of damn games....

The servers on T2 are much emptier than they were a month and a half ago. Interesting.

see here's the thing. It doesnt matter if you say you won't ever buy another sierra game. I can guarantee that not a single person(even a dev) actually cares that you say that.

This means that you are having trouble connecting to the auth server. Change your location settings to something else.

I'm pretty sure It's not his fault, I am getting the same messages and I was just playing yesterday, the day before yesterday and the day before that and so on....

I think they are just messing with the Auth servers again, wait a few days and they should be back up.

I think they need to release Tribes 2 without auth servers like in T1

I had this happen for about a two day period back in early May. Wait a bit and it should cease. Besides, you should play T1 not T2...I personally think I see more active games I want to join in T1 than 2. Most T2 servers just have bots or are some messed up mod I cannot stand!

Yeah I can't get into any servers either for that same reason. It only seems to have started today. :-(

some servers ran this proxy hack that allowed them to be played as tho they were on a local lan. miami vehicles and osis do this i believe.

I don't think I've played T2 since UVA5, and I just tried mine and it works fine.

The WON servers aren't returning any IRC servers atm.

Then i can guarantee you some devs who will soon be wishing they were as successful as Daikatana. You may or may not have noticed some stiff competition entering the gaming arena; anyone who decides they don't need to worry about honked-off customers is an idiot, kthxbye. Or works for EA >8|.
