i used my my tacky-design and added the new logos. It may look shitty because the reflection from the flash on the lead makes some spots unviewable
That's not bad. Keep working on it.

Draw inspiration from the existing armors, keeping in mind certain elements that make a particular armor what it is (light, medium, heavy).

So I'm thinking about getting the diamond sword project back on track as we've got some nice models to observe from now. I've compiled them all in this image so I can determine what critical elements define each class and gender. We can then use these elements as a base for the diamond sword armors.

Heavy: Platform feet
Calf armor w/ exposed shins
knee pads on hinge
Heavy thigh plates
Cod piece
Central Breat Armor, shoulders optional
Large gun holder armored forearms
Large Jetpack
Standard sized hard receded into central armor

Medium Male: Fully armored boot to thigh
Exposed below hips, belt optional
Cod piece not optional
Large T-Chest plate with shoulder straps
Large jet pack held by shoulder straps
Bicep arm Plates
Fully armored gauntlets
Thick Helmet

Medium Female: Fully armored boot to thigh
Exposed waist and abdomen
Thick Breast plate with shoulder straps
Large Jet pack
Bicep arm Plates
Fully armored gauntlets
Regualr helmet

Light Male: Armored boots and knees
Exposed thighs and hips
Cod piece and belt optional
Thin breat plate
Large or Small straps
Jet pack as big as your head
Bicep Plates or Forearm Plates
Light wrist armor
Visor/Head protector type helmet

Light Female: Armored boots and knees
Exposed thigh to abs
Light belt
Medium breast plate with medium straps
Jet pack smaller than a bread box
Bicep plates
Wrist plates
Hand gurads
Visor/Head protector type helmet

Feel free to add any input on other things you think are important in defining a base armor.

This all needs to be said again. :D

look at that, no way i'm drawing that!!! how about you guys just use your imaginations and pretend that my drawing have chain mail. just looking at the pic is cramping my hand up.

Don't worry about it for concept drawings... you'll probably not have to worry about it at all, unless you start doing the skinning...

Also, about the mail, silver chainmail/ringmail would be easier to do visually than black mail, simply because the neutral color shows dark shades as well as light shades. With black as your standard color, all the dark shades that would show up on the silver, won't show.

I'd say go for a "blued steel" color rather than a black. I'll do up a "bar sample" of what I'm talking about...

Steel -- Black

Hmm... the blued steel didn't come out as dark as I wanted it... It's supposed to be quite a bit darker.

I don't expect it to stand out. It's not supposed to. The silver/steel plates on the armors will be the obvious highlights. The chain/ringmail will be intentionally subdued. Look at the leather/mesh fabric/kevlar on the official skins for a similar effect.

It doesn't have to be black-as-night black to the point where you can't see it. But it does need to be as dark as possible.

"Blued" is fine I guess.

Ok... a dark gray would probably be better, as the Pheonix armors already have a similar shade for thier... call it "ballistic padding"...

I would be happy with that. There are ways to shade it so it looks reflective and bright, but still black. Check out some of the chainmail textures available on the web.
