My $0.02 on the concept below:

As has been previously stated, she could use a sandwich or two once in a while. That aside, I love the egyption feel I get from this, but I worry that if you get too much of the Horas Guard look you might infringe on Starwolf teritory.

Hi here is mine...cool stuff

Hey, can you take that picture and remove all the background bullshit? I think it's a pretty cool concept, definently harkens back to the DS picture in the T1 manual.

Alrighty, i'm not claiming anything here, i REALLY liked tacky's idea with the armor so i decided to run with it while i was at school. Also it was taken with a digicam so it looks a bit distorted.

it's been a while since the last time that i had submitted anything to this thread. so here it is.

i have taken out the DS plate on the front chest. Because we are currently in the proses of figuring out what the insignia for DS should be. until then.
this time the Med. armour comes with helmet. I tried to bulk it up slightly in the chest and not the shoulder region. this is for all the W40K wankers out there.
the forearm guards gave me the most problems. still not satisfy with it. as you can tell this is still a WIP. when free time comes my way i will update you.

The logo for DS has been finalized.

http://www.pogozorro.com/images/dssteel4.jpg

Credit goes to pogozorro.

We're going to stick with the "plated" theme of overlapping plates that a lot of you have already experimented with. It works, so let's run with it.

The DS "shape" will be a "kite" shape -- an elongated square, drawn its sharpest point down. Use it in obvious places like kneepads, shoulders, chestplates, and jetpacks.

For the "under-armor" areas where we've seen a lot of fiber mesh on previous models, we're going to be using a dark chainmail pattern. When I say dark, I mean black. ...As black as can be reasonably rendered and still resemble some form of chainmail. This will work well with the bare metal appearance of the armored pieces, and highlight the "medieval" and "crusader" theme that's so prevalent in Diamond Sword armor designs.

We're still going with the intricate detailings you see in the Royo paintings. The intent is to highlight SOME of them with a gold color, and the details should be used in moderation. Remember, this tribe is still young in the T:V timeline.

So, to recap...

1. Logo:
http://www.pogozorro.com/images/dssteel4.jpg

2. Colors are silver/grey, black, and yellow/gold (in that order).

3. Keep using multiple plated layers throughout.

4. Integrate the "kite" shape where it appears most relevant -- in other words, in similar places that the other tribes' shapes are used on their armors.

For reference, this is the kite shape I'm referring to:

No, we're not using it exclusively in the logo.
