An in-deapth look at Vengeance armor designDark|Dragon 06-17-2004, 06:45 PM  Hi Chem! Very nice, except might want to work on the shoulder pads a bit. Black1ce 06-17-2004, 08:47 PM Hey guys I just wanted to plug a new feature of diamondsword.com ... The UPLOADER If you have any DS files what so ever, lets all try to get them all under the same place. www.diamondsword.com/uploader (http://www.diamondsword.com/uploader) It's quick, its easy, and it's pretty, and if you think you can help with the website or our staff, read this thread http://www.tribalwar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=300126 MonkeyHero 06-17-2004, 11:28 PM Just looking at that model chem. I'd say widen the thighs near the top a bit more, and the ass/crotch needs to be dropped down a bit. They look a little squished. Otherwise great modeling. Plague 06-18-2004, 01:08 AM Personally, I don't think any of the designs presented so far (including my two drafts) match T:V design. A lot of the problem with that is that Vengeance armors are based a lot on details, since all of them have almost the same exact shape, not counting the edges to form the triangular/round/square shapes. Diamond Sword design philosophy, at least from the past two games, has been all about decaling, and the helmet's closed facemask. So, there's not much room for matching up. I'm going to say go with the alternative and link the DS design with the Imperial design somewhat. That'll give a lot of leadway towards making something retro looking that isn't based on curved surfaces. No offense to Tacky, of course, but his designs are basic shapes joined together to create a design that isn't T1 or T2, but isn't really T:V either. What I did was draw an outline of a human figure, then overlay the silohette the T:V armors share, then try to work out the details from there (although it obviously didn't work out.) starwolf_nexus 06-18-2004, 02:25 AM its a big picture so i decided that if ur intrested in seeing my jetpack u can click this link http://upload.serverseed.com/pictars3/light jet pack.jpg ....i took the tri design off of a oscalating fan siting in my front room....and added on(it was the fan guard that inspired it) Tacky Tricky 06-18-2004, 02:38 AM Personally, I don't think any of the designs presented so far (including my two drafts) match T:V design. What I did was draw an outline of a human figure, then overlay the silohette the T:V armors share, then try to work out the details from there (although it obviously didn't work out.) my designs were to find the "shape" the armor will follow. I however, am paying more attention to the detail in the armor. ie, the design and the line flow. my med armor shows that the best.... even though it's still changing. as Fatman once posted- The only real motif I can even think of would be one with heavy emphasis on flowing line. Which I think would work fairly well with the zen aspect. which is what I'm doing. concentrating on what goes on the armor, rather than what shape the armor is. its a big picture so i decided that if ur intrested in seeing my jetpack u can click this link http://upload.serverseed.com/pictars3/light jet pack.jpg ....i took the tri design off of a oscalating fan siting in my front room....and added on(it was the fan guard that inspired it) can you make that drawing any bigger man!? j/k plz don't make it any bigger.. starwolf_nexus 06-18-2004, 02:44 AM lol didnt think my scanner would blow it up that much (zod would have a fit if i spelled scanner wrong) Neek 06-18-2004, 09:57 AM T:V CONTENT HAS BEEN RELEASED! Ok any artists who have not been to the T:V skinning contest thread, I suggest you go there now. http://www.tribalwar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=300056 Of perticular interest is the Skinning package for the pheonix medium, it includes 3dsmax files and skin templates. Get it here: http://www.tribalwar.com/rdb/index.php?fileid=2270 Data 06-18-2004, 03:19 PM I've collected most of the concept art that's been submitted through threads here, including the original DS Project thread. It will be up on www.diamondsword.com momentarily. :bandit: Neek 06-22-2004, 10:54 AM :bump: thread deserves to stay on page 1. enDless_Delirium 06-22-2004, 11:19 AM that jetpack design reminds me of the cloakpack for some reason... still it's nice. Vampire 06-23-2004, 02:38 AM just finally saw this thread and read through it. wow. Some of these designs are truly awesome, I'd love to see some of this stuff made up and put in game. I love DS :D starwolf_nexus 06-24-2004, 12:36 AM that jetpack design reminds me of the cloakpack for some reason... still it's nice. ...ya I liked the design of the cloak pack but I wanted to change the general design....I think it looks better as a jet pack, with a few tweaks. Alexander 06-24-2004, 04:13 AM Best medium design (taller, buffed up a bit) http://staff.tribalwar.com/colosus/ds_light_color.jpg Regardless of anything else, this should be the medium model. Data 06-24-2004, 04:36 AM So are we stuck on the old DS logo from T1? I wish we could come up with something new... Riavan 06-24-2004, 05:11 AM Make it more gothic looking if possible, thats where the blood eagle one has seemed to go anyway... bdm 06-25-2004, 01:36 AM couple thoughts :: 1stly logo ( i liked saracasticks logos) the question is do you want fancy looking or to play into the whole 'timeline' (ie since this takes place before T1.. the logo would probably be the same (or not as good ) 2ndly Model look : DS always seemed to be a mix of higly tech & mideval. (and again) do you want fancy/sleek or all blocky like the existing T:V in game ones (no offense to the T:V team they are a lil to realistic for my taste and look kinda lame) Data 06-25-2004, 01:40 AM I've started a discussion about the DS Project logo on our forums. http://www.diamondsword.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=22 I encourage you all to participate and offer your own insights. Undisciplined 06-26-2004, 12:20 AM Well, I finally got around to sketching my concept for DS medium (rather messily). It's in fact a combination of many styles (including Ticky Tacky's) that I tried to force to fit the general design of T:V mediums. The proportions seem somewhat off to me, but otherwise it turned out alright (excusing the drawing quality): http://s95044214.onlinehome.us/dsmedconcept1.jpg Without engravings for easier viewing of shape: http://s95044214.onlinehome.us/ds_unengraved.jpg My only worry is that it might be a little too generic looking, or unfocused in style. The 'scaled' theme is not so present so much as a plated look. SarcaStick 06-26-2004, 12:27 AM http://www.zodotcom.com/misc/ds_project/ds_lfemale_concept.jpg ^^that's the shit right there!! | ||
