Everybody B-1.Fixed.
Sydney crew plays T:V alphaPlasmatic 06-07-2004, 11:54 AM Everybody B-1.Fixed. Thrax Panda 06-07-2004, 12:26 PM Anybody of the Devs willing to move to Holland and bring a copy... I'd let the rest of Europe play... I really would.... really....Looks like I may be in Europe in mid July. Probably Paris. Thrax Panda 06-07-2004, 12:36 PM How long have you been visiting TW? heh I do have a question though. It seems like it is really easy to grab the flag and run. Is this because players have less defensive capabilities, or do people need time to "Learn" how to defend again? There are a bunch of reasons. We designed it to be easier to get to the flag than in T2. It's not fully tuned yet (Turrets are nearly worthless for instance) On a completely even field, Defense is harder than offense. The offense's target (the flag) doesn't move, while the defenders have a (semi) intelligent capper actively avoiding them. We (as players) haven't figured out how to set up our defense yet. New weapons (as yet not fully balanced) add to item 3. It is possible to set up a good defense. I did fairly ok in the E3 pub setting when I managed to get 4 turrets, two repair turrets, and me in heavy with a repair pack up on the flag stand on Spiridian. I haven't seen any active light d yet (as in snipers, etc) trying to get people before they get to the flag. We'll see how it goes. It's very easy to give the defense an added advantage. A negative nurf so to speak. Simply making turrets and mines more effective for instance, or increasing the power of the burner. It's much harder to do the same for offense. Equality 06-07-2004, 12:58 PM The only thing about the reviews that worried me was the IT might not be as teambased. Although im just assuming everyone was trying out shit and not really trying to work with each other in the first place. Yeah, until you've played with it for a while and know what everything does, it's hard not to go off on a tangent and try out some stuff. :-) elton 06-07-2004, 01:31 PM Looks like I may be in Europe in mid July. Probably Paris. Dont worry if Thrax gets kiddnaped by a commando of angry french tribes players. We will release him when we get our private beta accounts. You didn't have to keep the 'v' held down. Is the comment accurate that you have to keep shift held down to get the voice binds? If so, that's not quite simple, right? edit: Actually, I see some clarification in further posts, hope it's something that can be changed. :) Wulfen 06-07-2004, 05:38 PM We designed it to be easier to get to the flag than in T2. I'm pretty sure we won't see the same defensive bias that we saw in T2, and I don't think any of us want to see that. I'm glad you designed it to be that way, even if that makes my planned roles harder to do well. -crap- 06-07-2004, 05:49 PM Indeed. I hope that the defense never has the boring patches of time common in T2 base, nor the insane action that sometimes was simply overwhelming and not quite fun from T2 classic. So far it looks good :) VektorX 06-07-2004, 06:44 PM Coming from a mainly defensive player, I hope that the offense will continue to have an advantage. Dont released him till you try the game and approve it. If the game is bad, do some sexual punishment on Thrax. :bananasex However, Thrax, where in Paris are you going ? Its for vacation ? Thrax Panda 06-07-2004, 07:22 PM Press tour. Just hints of it so far, no details. RedSpider 06-07-2004, 08:05 PM So experienced players will likely memorize the respawn areas and go "B 1" or "B 2" and so on, based on which spawning ground they want to go to. Is that right? Just two keys to hit one after the other. No mouse movement, no menus that need to be fiddled with? If this is the way it works I am happy. | ||
