Are there currently capout limits or not?
Sydney crew plays T:V alpha-crap- 06-06-2004, 10:43 AM Are there currently capout limits or not? poisonspider 06-06-2004, 11:51 AM So the Gunship pilot has bombs eh? Why the hell didn't anyone mention this earlier! :D Pretty important I would say - unless those bombs are confetti bombs. btw is the tank not yet working ingame? in an earlier preview i read, it had rockets, i guess they keep changin shit :D poisonspider 06-06-2004, 12:11 PM QUOTE: and i forgot an ad on for the pod. when u press spacebar the pod grew small wings and u get extra boosters and u go super fast. the only downfall of this was when u did it, it sends u straight down, but u get use to it and it ends up working out very nicely if u want to get low to escape fire or to go under an object. really fun when u get it going smoothly. Thrax Panda 06-06-2004, 12:31 PM Still, what was wrong with a simple press of v?It's preference. They are 95% the same system, but using Shift lets you bail in the middle without having to select a random or hit escape or anything. If you don't like it, bind it differently, I don't see why it's that big of a deal. Thrax Panda 06-06-2004, 12:32 PM in an earlier preview i read, it had rockets, i guess they keep changin shit :DNo. The Assault ship never had rockets. The Fighter has always had rockets. Didn't know it was a setting. Thrax Panda 06-06-2004, 12:42 PM Didn't know it was a setting.Either way, it's really not a big deal. It's the F'ing Quick chat start key after all. It's not like we announced that we're making the game a 2D platformer or something. My god, we've got a whole bunch of very positive player reviews ("I'm not going to trust anything until I see some players review it") who are almost universally ebullient, and you guys are all like, "Meh, you changed the voice binds, eeeeeeek," Yes, we changed the voice bind system. Everybody Ctrl-K. -crap- 06-06-2004, 12:43 PM Thats a good point about the bailing in the middle of it. That always annoyed me :p Amadeus 06-06-2004, 12:44 PM Either way, it's really not a big deal. Lump it. -crap- 06-06-2004, 12:55 PM are cap limits higher or even present anymore? I dont like the sound of low cap limits + ease of capping ¬¬ CxD 06-06-2004, 12:55 PM so they got to install t:v to there own hdd? i give it another day til its all over newsgroups and irc. poisonspider 06-06-2004, 12:59 PM No. The Assault ship never had rockets. The Fighter has always had rockets. QUOTE-Gamers Depot: The Assault Ship is our Gunship – the pilot’s armed with a forward firing explosive projectile, and the two gunners both have anti aircraft guns. It’s heavily armored, capable of vertical take off and landing. I assumed forward firing explosive projectile is a rocket because bombs don't usually lunge forward like they seem to describe. I understand they could have miscommunicated this, but I just wanted you to know that im not crazy Wahahah~!24343! Heres the link (http://www.gamers-depot.com/interviews/tribes2_v/002.htm) edit: So whats suicide now? Amadeus 06-06-2004, 01:01 PM We changed Ctrl-K too. Lump it. You evil person!!!! I don't really care as long as it's remappable. |MrSniper|Nyx 06-06-2004, 01:16 PM Thrax, I don't think the complaints about the "small" changes like the binds of the v-chat menu are completely unfounded in their comments. Personally, I don't fear change, especially when the change is obviously needed and for the better. What I do fear are 'preferential' or 'because-we-felt-like-it-and-we-can' changes. Taking seemingly small and unimportant elements like these and changing them strikes a note of concern in my mind because, as triple said, things like this are battle-tested and fit your goal of intuitiveness. Things like Ctrl + K are less so, but still seem so simple that it would be easier just to leave it the same as opposed to changing the default. Now I will confess I felt the same way about Tribes 2's config changes. I looked at the layout card when I opened the box and went "oh noes they killed Tribes." Now I'm an ESDF man all the way. I'm open to changes like these, but I think there is a place to be concerned when so many small changes get compounded, and all of a sudden we find ourselves with an imposter of a Tribes game, masquerading with jetpacks nad trying to tag off the nostalgia in our hearts for money. That's an uber-extreme fatalistic view, I know. triple 06-06-2004, 01:23 PM Either way, it's really not a big deal. It's the F'ing Quick chat start key after all. Everybody Ctrl-K. VAV sounds better than "SHIFT-F-D-3!!!".. seriously though I think ^ nailed it when he said its more of a "we change it because we can", because that's kinda what im seeing. Why did you mess with ctrl-k? What was the design concern with that? Did focus testing find vets were messing up noobs by saying "press ctrl-k to get autoaim"? -crap- 06-06-2004, 01:26 PM  | ||
