According to Santah's review, a mine requires two disc shots to destroy (wtf?) and a deployable turret can only withstand one?

That's just ass backwards.

Thats why they have beta :)

Voice Binds: THEY WERE FUCKING SHIT!!! Being a spammer at heart, I was keen to checkout the t:V voice comms system, and I must say it sucked. For some unknown reason, they have abandoned the v chat menu system. You had to hold down shift to bring up the menu, and whilest still holding shift navigate threw the menus and select the desired bind. Holding down the shift key and having to navigate through the poorly layed out menus in effect tied up a whole hand. BRING BACK THE V CHAT SYSTEM!!!

some official comment on this?

IMO they were not bad - just different.

shift system rules. when the quickchats are learned its really fast to use the Shift system, seeing as most people hadnt used it before it did take some time to find the quickchat they were after.

Still, what was wrong with a simple press of v?

about as hard as a simple press of shift...

those packs sound hella gay

take away skill (shield pack energy consumption)

add in major newbieness (speed pack uber fire rate)
..

but once inside you could run around and blow shit up hella fast!

remind anyone of anything. .hmm

I almost didn't touch the epack (used it once or twice) cause the DJ then repair ability of the rep pack was too useful for speed. I LD'ed with rep pack too, so i could keep base assets up and always have full health to dj after cappers.

I can't read anymore :ftard:

Russ']about as hard as a simple press of shift...
That's not answering my question. Why did you have to make v chat system more complicated? There are a number of situations where you're in enough trouble already to hit that 3 keys alone, let alone hold down another one. Adding in the shift key seems to do nothing but eliminate emergency chat messages. (and also lock up some keyboards when you try moving forward and throwing a nade in the process)

So the Gunship pilot has bombs eh? Why the hell didn't anyone mention this earlier! :D Pretty important I would say - unless those bombs are confetti bombs. btw is the tank not yet working ingame?

The "v" system worked for me, and most people great... noobs got used to it pretty fast.. it wisent exactly a "problem" but yet it was "fixed."

Though.. I’m not afraid of change.. Just feel like this is a sort of trademark for Tribes..

Russ']shift system rules.

It may. Then again, it may not when you test it with a couple hundred people at tribalwars and they tell you their opinion on the new "great" system. People know and love the v-chat system, it's battle-tested, and it works flawlessly. Not at least providing an option for the v-chat system is asking for trouble.

Quickchat: as reported by WOFN, the default system uses the shift key below your left pinky finger. While pressing this, you see a visual layout of the 9 keys around WASD. Each key has a quickchat or category of quickchats. This lets you choose quickchats without moving your hand or taking your eyes off the screen. Having said that, the system is customizable. You can change the text associated with each entry, and you can change the keys back to good ol' vgx style if you really want.
