Whats yer inspiration for making T:V less like the first two games, and moving it to a faster paced action game?

1) T1 and T2 are so different that it would be impossible to make a game that is like both. It would be either T1 or T2.

2) We played those games already. No point in only updating the graphics and fixing a few bugs.

I'm not debating wether the first two games were alike... My point is why did they make such a drastic gameplay change that are different from T1 & T2. And plus I'm not against the change in gameplay style, I'm just wondering if they played any other games that attributed to these ideas other than the first tribes games.

If you're playing T1 and it's NOT a fast paced action game....you're playing it wrong.

It is a new game, it is not T1 or T2, and if that concept is beyond you then I apologize, but it doesn't change facts. New Engine + New weapons + New packs + New deployables + New vehicles + New (better) physics = New Game. Trying to make that all equal the same old thing would not just be impossible, it would be stupid and pointless.


if you're still looking for a 'why', they built the game from the ground up. I wouldn't say they made changes from T1 and T2, instead their ideas were influenced by the series.

Yea, just was about to say that... Alot of things in T:V are simmilar to the ren mod... but other ideas like the grappling hook mighta came from quake...

I was just curious if they got some good ideas from other games...

Oh and Irrational, replace the energy blade with something like the JKII lightsaber... that would be friggen amazing, IMO (stressed as in my opinion, as in I don't care if you think I'm wrong).
